2014 AMD A-Series APUs (Kaveri)

AMD introduced the new A-series APUs for 2014. Previously known under the code name Kaveri, they are equipped with AMD Radeon R7 graphics processors. According to AMD, the new APUs "have a range of amazing benefits that will dramatically increase PC performance and make gaming even more immersive."

These include benefits such as up to 12 cores (4 CPUs and 8 GPUs) and a heterogeneous system architecture (HSA) that allows CPU and GPU cores to work in harmony, distributing tasks between relevant elements, resulting in increased performance. Kaveri also features DirectX 11.2 Graphics Core Next (GCN) GPU architecture with Mantle API, AMD TrueAudio technology (32-channel surround sound for an ideal presence and immersion) and UltraHD (4K) support. It remains to be added that the new APUs are compatible with boards with an FM2+ processor socket.

Starting today, the AMD A10-7850K and AMD A10-7700K models are on sale. The AMD A8-7600 model will be on sale in the current quarter.

The AMD A10-7850K APU price is $173, AMD A10-7700K is $152, AMD A8-7600 is $119. The A10-7850K and A10-7700K models will ship with EA Battlefield 4.

All three models have quad-core CPUs and 4MB L10 cache, while the number of GPU cores is eight for the top model and six for the other two. The base frequency of the CPU in the case of AMD A7850-3,7K is 10 GHz, AMD A7700-3,4K - 8 and AMD A7600-3,3 - 3,1 / 4,0 GHz, the maximum Turbo Core frequency is 3,8 GHz, 3,8 .3,3 GHz and 95 / 95 GHz, and the TDP value is 65, 45 and 720/XNUMX W, respectively.
