To control the electrolyte level in the battery banks, you can use a simple device, the device of which is schematically shown in the figure. It consists of two rods (narrow strips of stainless steel) of different lengths, rigidly fixed in a 5...8 mm thick organic glass base, to which HL1 and HL2 incandescent lamps are connected. rated for the voltage corresponding to the voltage of the tested battery.

Depending on the type of battery, the length of the short rod can be 13...14, the long one - 20...22 mm. A flexible insulated wire 350 ... 400 mm long with a pointed wire probe at the free end is soldered to the connection point of the lamps.

Battery electrolyte level indicator

After removing the cork, the indicator rods are inserted into the jar through the filling hole to the base and touch one of the battery terminals with a flexible probe. If at the same time none of the lamps is lit, then the electrolyte level in the checked bank is below the permissible level. The glow of only one HL2 lamp will indicate that the electrolyte level in the bank is below normal, both lamps - the level is normal.

The brightness of the glow of the lamps depends on the number of batteries included in their power circuit.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
