When introducing an iambic prefix [1] into the telegraph key, I encountered difficulties in manufacturing a two-lever manipulator, the quality of which determines the clarity of work on the air. There are some inconveniences when switching from a single-lever manipulator. The idea of a sensory manipulator has already appeared on the pages of Radio magazines, but I have not come across practical schemes.

This manipulator (Fig. 1) works with electronic keys made both on TTL and CMOS microcircuits, both with simple and iambic keys. Supply voltage 3 - 15 V is supplied directly from the manipulated key. The current consumption is only in the pressing mode and is about 0,4 mA. In addition to K561LA8, you can use K561LA7, K561LA9 by connecting unused inputs to the power bus. -

The distance from the inputs of the microcircuit to the touch contacts should be minimal. Sensor contacts are made of fiberglass plates glued together with foil outwards. On each of them, the track leading to the common wire and the track connected to the inputs of the corresponding element alternate (Fig. 2). When a finger is touched, the output of the AND element does not change its state, the transistor switch is activated and a series of characters is transmitted. You should not make too narrow a distance between the tracks, as a sweaty finger leaves a wet film and the key may give extra signs until it evaporates.

When working with a touch pad, it is easier to work at high speeds, it does not require adjustment and is suitable for operators who prefer both soft and hard pad travel. For lovers of a single-lever manipulator, it allows you to work in iambic mode.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The cave got sick 02.03.2004

The famous Lascaux cave in the south of France with numerous images of animals made in the late Paleolithic, about 15 thousand years ago, was discovered in 1940, and since then it has been visited by tourists for a long time, sometimes up to a thousand people a day. But the breath of tourists increased the humidity of the air, they carried dust and microorganisms on their clothes and shoes, which did not contribute to the preservation of rock art.

Therefore, in 1963 the cave was closed for tours. But it turned out that the cave can "sick" even without tourists. In 2002, the Fusarium fungus grew on the floor of the cave. I had to spray the stones with a fungicide - a remedy for parasitic fungi. The reproduction of fungi is greatly slowed down. But then a bacterium appeared, willingly feeding on the fungicide. Spraying was repeated by adding an antibiotic to the liquid.

It seemed the problem was solved. However, this year, the staff of the Historical Monuments Research Laboratory discovered another combination of fungi and bacteria on the roof of the cave, against which spraying did not work. So far, however, none of the drawings have been affected. But archaeologists are worried that the source of the infection is unknown and it is not clear how to deal with it.
