The three-stage transistor VHF FM transmitter is designed to operate in the range of 144-146 MHz. Its output power is about 1,2 watts into a 60 ohm load. The master oscillator with quartz frequency stabilization (see figure) is made on a transistor T1, connected according to a common base circuit. A D1 varicap is connected in series with the quartz resonator, with the help of which frequency modulation is carried out.

Preliminary constant mixing is supplied to the varicap from the divider R8R9. The master oscillator uses quartz resonators at frequencies of 72-73 MHz (the third mechanical harmonic). A frequency doubler is assembled on transistor T2. The output amplification stage is made on the transistor T3. connected according to the scheme with a common emitter. The inductor L5 together with the coupling capacitor C12 and the capacitance of the collector junction form an output P-filter. Inductor Dr4, included in the base circuit of the output transistor, is shunted with a low-resistance resistor R7 in order to prevent self-excitation of the final stage at the resonant frequency of the inductor.

Before setting up the transmitter, a bias of about 8 V is applied to the varicap from the R9R3 divider. The transmitter output is loaded onto the equivalent of the antenna. In the master oscillator, it is selected from which turn of the inductor L1 it is better to make a tap. The number of turns before the tap, counting from the grounded terminal, should be minimal, but sufficient for stable operation of the master oscillator. The doubler and final stage are adjusted to the maximum output power.

In the transmitter, amplitude modulation can also be applied by including a transistor power amplifier (with an output power of about 0,5 W) into the collector circuit of the output stage through an appropriate transformer. Since, during amplitude modulation, the voltage at the collector of the output transistor can exceed the voltage of the power source by 2 or more times (during overmodulation), in order to avoid failure of the output transistor after the modulator (for example, in parallel with C10), it is necessary to turn on the zener diode with a stabilization voltage less than the maximum allowable voltage at the collector of the output transistor. The winding data of all contour coils are given in the table.

All chokes are made on ferrite cores and have an inductance of about 1 μH.

The transmitter can use transistors GT313 (T1), KT603 (T2), KT606 (T3), varicap KV102 or D902 (D1).

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

Primium Seneca keyboard 05.05.2024

Keyboards are an integral part of our daily computer work. However, one of the main problems that users face is noise, especially in the case of premium models. But with the new Seneca keyboard from Norbauer & Co, that may change. Seneca is not just a keyboard, it is the result of five years of development work to create the ideal device. Every aspect of this keyboard, from acoustic properties to mechanical characteristics, has been carefully considered and balanced. One of the key features of Seneca is its silent stabilizers, which solve the noise problem common to many keyboards. In addition, the keyboard supports various key widths, making it convenient for any user. Although Seneca is not yet available for purchase, it is scheduled for release in late summer. Norbauer & Co's Seneca represents new standards in keyboard design. Her ... >>

The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

New speed record for electric boats 22.06.2018

Jaguar broke the water speed record for boats equipped with electric propulsion with a boat powered by two electric motors producing a total of 299 horsepower.

Jaguar has partnered with Williams Advanced Engineering to develop the 320kg Jaguar Vector Racing V20E powered by a 299 horsepower powerplant. With his help, a new world record was set.

The previous speed record for electric boats is 76,8 miles per hour (approximately 123,5 kilometers per hour); it was installed in 2008. Jaguar, on the other hand, managed to beat it by 19 km / h - its boat was able to reach an average speed of 88,61 miles per hour (142,6 km / h) on the basis of two races in opposite directions; the speed was recorded over a one-kilometer section.

The absolute water speed record was set in 1978 and is 511 km/h.
