For owners of ZUSCT TVs with a submodule of the SMRK-2 radio channel, living in an area of uncertain reception, I offer a simple way to increase the sensitivity of the UPCHI (and the TV as a whole) by 1,5-2 times by changing the values of several resistors.

An analysis of the differential amplifier circuit of the submodule of the SMRK-2 radio channel, assembled on transistors VT2 and VT3, using the technique taken from [1], shows that this cascade does not amplify the signal, but apparently only serves to obtain the paraphase voltage necessary for normal operation of the D2 chip type K174UR5 with a differential input. A fragment of the SMRK-2 scheme with changes is shown in the figure. The numbering of the elements corresponds to the manufacturer's scheme, and the resistor values are new. The gain of the cascade (calculated) with such ratings is 5, but the real one is somewhat lower due to parasitic mounting capacitances and the shunting effect of the D2 microcircuit.

For radio amateurs who love to experiment and decide to repeat this scheme, I advise you to try to reduce the ratings of R9 and R13 (they should be the same). This will increase the gain, but may lead to self-excitation of the UPCH. Well, now from theory to practice. In the city of Lozovaya, my MB antenna of the 3-element "wave channel" type was directed to the Lozovskaya repeater "Bokom" received the signal UT-1 (channel 2) from the city of Izyum (distance about 90 km). Before the alteration, the image was black and white, the sound was noisy. After the alteration - the sound is clear, the image is colored with a slight "snow". In conclusion, I want to say that a further increase in the sensitivity of the TV is possible by replacing the channel selectors SK-M-24 and SK-D-24 with more modern all-wave SK V-41, SK V-518M, etc.

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Major risk factor for gambling addiction 07.05.2024

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts. It turned out that the key factor in the onset of gambling addiction is a low level of prosocial behavior. Teenagers with a low level of prosocial behavior do not show interest in the help and support of others, which can lead to a loss of contact with the real world and a deepening dependence on virtual reality offered by computer games. Based on these results, scientists ... >>

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

The influence of parks and squares on the temperature in the city 28.02.2024

A study of the influence of green areas in cities on air temperature showed that botanical gardens are the most effective in cooling. According to an analysis carried out by scientists at the University of Surrey, these gardens can reduce temperatures in surrounding areas by five degrees Celsius, while parks can reduce temperatures by 3,2 degrees. Such studies have not been conducted before, and the results of this analysis provide new perspectives for urban planning.

Green spaces such as trees play a key role in reducing temperatures by providing shade, blocking the sun's rays and increasing humidity. However, according to the study, different forms of green space have different effectiveness in cooling the environment. Botanical gardens, as well as trees planted along streets and even green roofs and balconies, play a significant role in reducing temperatures to 3,8 degrees Celsius.

Parks that cover a larger area have a more global impact, influencing winds and helping to move cool air to warmer areas of the city.

This study highlights the importance of greening urban environments and will help consider the effectiveness of green spaces when planning urban spaces. Landscaping not only creates a pleasant atmosphere, but also contributes to a more comfortable and healthy life for city residents.
