Adapters are designed for automatic recording of signals from a telephone line and work in conjunction with tape recorders. The adapters include a node for matching the polarity and level of the input signal and a threshold-switching device. The node for matching the polarity and level of the input signal (Fig.1...3) is made on the basis of a diode-bridge circuit and a resistive voltage divider.

Using this node allows you to connect adapters to a telephone line without observing polarity. The threshold-switching device (PKU) provides load control when the level of the input control signal (line voltage) changes. The following can be used as a load: an electric motor of a tape recorder, a relay, an LED of an optocoupler, an incandescent lamp, etc. This device operates in binary mode, if the input of the device is logical '1'", i.e. the phone is on-hook, the voltage in the telephone line is nominal (60 V) - the load is de-energized. As soon as the logical "0" appears at the PKU input ( the tube is removed, the voltage on the line is about 12 V), the load is turned on, and information is automatically recorded. In the first PKU circuit (Fig. 1), a composite transistor VT1, VT2 is used. divider R1, R1, through the diode VD2 is fed to the power bus.A blocking voltage (+5 V) is set at the control junction of the transistor VT1, and the load is turned off. , the load turns on. The load current is determined by the type of transistor VT0,7 (0 ... 1 mA). Another version of the PKU (Fig. 2) is based on a comparator (IC DA30 K100SAZ), the threshold of which is set by resistor R2.

The load current of the device can reach 150...200 mA. Another PKU circuit (Fig. 3) is assembled on a CMOS switch (microcircuit DA1 K176KT1). Unused switch keys are connected in parallel with those involved.

The output transistor load current can be hundreds of milliamps. The signal "to record" is connected to the input of the tape recorder. The tape recorder must be in record mode. As a recording device, it is desirable to use a tape recorder that has automatic recording level control and a reliable tape drive mechanism that prevents jamming of the tape. To protect the input circuits of the adapters from random surges such as lightning discharges at the input of the device, it is advisable to install arresters for a voltage of about 200 V.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

32-bit ARM Cortex-M7 processor for high performance microcontrollers 25.09.2014

ARM has unveiled a 32-bit Cortex-M family of processors that will double the performance of microcontrollers compared to currently available ARM-based microcontrollers in both computing and DSP. More specifically, the performance of the Cortex-M7 is rated at 5 CoreMark points per 1 MHz of clock speed.

The application areas of ARM Cortex-M7 include embedded high-end solutions for vehicles, industrial automation systems, and smart homes. It is assumed that the increased performance of the Cortex-M7, which allows for faster analysis of audio and visual information and speech recognition, will be immediately noticed by consumers.

ARM Cortex-M7 features include a six-stage superscalar pipeline, an in-system AXI interface with 64-bit transfer support, and fully integrated optional instruction and data caches. In addition, it should be noted the built-in memory interfaces and the possibility of flexible configuration during implementation, which allows you to get a wide range of products that differ in cost and performance.

Optionally, you can integrate command and data tracing tools; it also provides for the embedding of data protection and integrity, which expands the scope of the Cortex-M7. The advantages of the novelty include compatibility with other Cortex-M processors at the level of the software model and binary codes.

The novelty has already been licensed by Atmel, Freescale and ST Microelectronics. It remains to be added that last year ARM partners shipped approximately 3 billion microcontrollers based on the ARM architecture.
