Often, in the process of manufacturing transformers on a tape rod twisted magnetic circuit, its plates delaminate. This leads to difficulties in assembling the transformer and increased buzz in operation. If it is not possible to replace a delaminated magnetic circuit, it is not at all difficult to restore it.

In the manufacture of a magnetic circuit at the factory, a workpiece wound from a steel tape is impregnated with a special binder compound, after which it is sintered at a high temperature. Since the compound becomes very brittle after hardening, under mechanical loads and shocks, the finished magnetic circuit can delaminate into several blocks and even individual plates.

Recovery consists in gluing blocks and plates into a single whole. The best glue for this purpose is "Super Glue" (made in Japan, Osaka), packaged in tubes. When buying glue, you should give preference to the most liquid, with thickened glue it will be more difficult to achieve good results.

If only one end of the U-shaped part of the magnetic circuit has delaminated, then first it is necessary to compress the second end with a clamp so that the delamination does not go further. Then a few drops of glue are applied to the cracks from all sides. In order for the glue to penetrate deep into the cracks, several times within 10 ... 15 s they squeeze with their fingers and release the package of plates. If necessary, add 2-3 drops of glue to where it has completely gone into the cracks.

After that, the glued end is compressed with a second clamp, the extruded glue is removed with a cloth flap and the magnetic circuit is left in a warm place to dry for a day. If the delamination has reached the curved section of the magnetic circuit, compression of this section should also be ensured, for which the magnetic circuit is clamped in a vise (through rubber gaskets), having previously prepared a wooden spacer with roundings of the desired radius.

When clamping the magnetic circuit with a clamp or in a vise, avoid excessively high compression forces. This can violate its integrity and aggravate the delamination.

In the case when the magnetic circuit is stratified into separate plates and blocks of plates, then they begin by finding their place for each part. Assemble the package "dry" and make sure that the polished ends form a perfectly flat surface. After that, the already described operations of applying glue, compressing the package, clamping in clamps and vices, and drying are performed.

Glue "Super Glue" for the restoration of magnetic circuits is best suited. It has good fluidity, provides high bonding strength, is non-flammable, moisture resistant after hardening, does not require obligatory degreasing of surfaces (if they have not been dipped in oil).

However, it must be remembered that it provides only one attempt to restore the magnetic circuit, since it begins to harden after 1 ... 2 minutes, and after an hour the adhesive seam can withstand quite large loads. Therefore, before opening the tube with glue, you should carefully prepare all the equipment, think over the sequence of actions and rehearse the process.

Glue streaks after drying are cut off with a knife or removed with a file. The mating surfaces of the magnetic core are carefully cleaned of traces of glue, first with a safety razor blade, and finally - on a sheet of polishing sandpaper placed on a sheet of glass. This last operation is especially necessary for the magnetic circuit, which has been very heavily stratified.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Created the highest quality laser 07.07.2017

For most people, the word laser is always associated with the term "accuracy". However, in the field of laser technologies, there is also a fairly large space for further improvements. An "ideal" laser should emit light with a strictly defined wavelength, but real lasers are far from ideal, and they emit light in a very narrow band of the spectrum. The bandwidth of the spectrum is one of the main characteristics of lasers that determine its quality, and one of the areas for improving laser technology is precisely to reduce this bandwidth as much as possible.

Recently, an international team of scientists has completed the creation of a record-breaking laser with a spectral bandwidth of only 10 MHz (0.01 Hz). For comparison, the bandwidth of the spectrum of most lasers used in science and industry is, at best, several thousand Hertz.

The second indicator of the quality of the laser is the stability of the emitted light, which determines how long the laser can emit a high-quality beam of light. The new laser, developed by specialists and scientists from the Federal University of Physics and Technology, Germany, and a scientific group from the JILA (Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics), USA, holds the record for both of the above parameters. In addition to a bandwidth of 10 MHz, this laser exhibits a beam stability of 11 seconds. This is enough time for the light emitted by the laser to cover a distance of 3.3 million kilometers, which is approximately ten times the distance between the Earth and the Moon.

The new laser system is of such high quality that it cannot be compared with any other existing laser. And in order to make comparative tests, scientists had to make two identical laser samples and compare them with each other. And to compare the quality of work, a complex system of mirrors and other optical components was used, which was a highly stable optical resonator, 21 centimeters long, tuned to a specific wavelength of light. In addition, other devices were used that made it possible to avoid the influence of such factors as fluctuations in atmospheric pressure, humidity and temperature on the measurements.

The measurements and experiments carried out by scientists allowed them to collect data, on the basis of which the main parameters of the new lasers were calculated. And further work in this direction, including the use of new materials for laser mirrors, technologies for lowering the temperature in the volume of the laser cavity, etc., will make it possible to reduce the bandwidth of the laser spectrum to a level of no more than 1 MHz.
