A simple electronic unit, which I propose to add to the machines of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, will expand the possibilities of controlling the windshield wiper. Despite the fact that the device was developed for cars of the UAZ family, it can also be used on Zhiguli to replace the failed built-in electromechanical regulator.

The node diagram is shown in fig. 1. On the logic elements DD1.1, DD1.2, a low-frequency generator of rectangular pulses is made, which are fed to the input of the counter DD2. A current amplifier is assembled on transistors VT1, VT2. Transistors operate in switching mode.

When a high-level counter appears at output 0, transistor VT1 opens and VT2 follows it - the wiper motor turns on. After some time, the high level at the output 0 of the counter is replaced by a low level, the transistors are closed and the electric motor is turned off, and the counter continues to count.

As soon as a high level appears at output 1 of the counter, this level, after double inversion by the elements DD1.3, DD1.4, will reset the counter and a new pulse counting cycle will begin. If the SA1 switch is moved to a position with a higher number, the time for resetting the counter will come later, i.e., the pauses between successive wiper starts will increase. In position "1" there is practically no pause.

The trimmer resistor R2 sets the required frequency of the generator, and hence the operating time of the wiper motor in each cycle. On the

resistor R7 and zener diode VD1 assembled a parametric stabilizer to power microcircuits.

All elements of the assembly, except for the transistor VT2 and the switch SA1, are mounted on a printed circuit board made of foil fiberglass with a thickness of 1,5 mm. The drawing of the board is shown in fig. 2.

Contact pads 1 - 7 and P, located on the board from the side of the printed conductors near the installation site of the DD2 chip, are designed to be connected to the SA1 switch. It is mounted near the wiper switch. If you do not need such a wide choice of pause duration, you can use the SA1 switch to a smaller number of positions.

For one selected value of the duration of the pause, the switch is not needed at all; only pad P should be connected with a jumper to the corresponding meter output. Let, for example, output 7 be selected - then in each cycle the brushes will make three double strokes on the glass, and the pause will be equal to 5 ... 7 s.

The VT2 transistor must be screwed to a small heat sink in the form of a 60x40x3 mm duralumin plate. The heat sink on four racks is mounted parallel to the board.

All node resistors, except for R2 and R6, are MLT-0,125. Resistor R6 must have a dissipation power of at least 2 watts. Trimmer resistor R2 - any type, better than a closed design and with shaft fixation. Capacitors - KLS or KM. The zener diode VD2 can be any for a voltage of 8 ... 10 V, preferably a miniature one. Instead of the KT815B transistor, any of the KT815, KT817 series is suitable, and instead of the KT818B, any of the KT818 series.

The mounted board is placed in the box from the MKU-48 relay and fixed under the dashboard of the car.

On connecting the node to the electrical system of the UAZ-3151 car. Of the six colored terminals of the wiper switch, three are used - green is connected to the positive wire of the on-board network, gray - to terminal 1 of the board, white - to terminal 2 and the electric motor. The remaining three conclusions are left free. Conclusion 3 of the board is connected to the car body.

With this connection, in the extreme left position of the switch, the wiper is off, in the middle position - continuous operation of the brushes, in the extreme right - intermittent.

When installing the node on Zhiguli cars, instead of the existing electromechanical output, 1 of the board is connected to a red wire, 2 to blue, and 3 to yellow. The operating mode of the wiper in this case will change somewhat. Now, in each cycle, the brushes, depending on the position of the resistor R2 slider, will make 2-3 double strokes with a pause of 2 ... 13 s, set by switch SA1.

The operation of the described unit on a UAZ-3151 car showed good results. The absence of oxide capacitors contributes to the reliable operation of the unit.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Technology for printing XNUMXD objects from liquid 07.04.2018

Scientists at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory have developed a way to print three-dimensional objects and structures made entirely of liquid materials. Using an upgraded XNUMXD printer, they created networks of water "tubes" in silicone oil. This technology can be used to create liquid electronics that power flexible and elastic devices. In addition, this method will allow the separation and study of individual molecules, the delivery of "building blocks" for the manufacture of nanoscale mechanisms and microelectromechanical systems.

The printed water filaments had a thickness of 10 microns to 1 millimeter with a filament length of several meters. To implement this technology, scientists had to develop a method that does not allow water to break into separate drops during printing. The solution to this problem was a special surfactant material that binds and holds water.

This material was obtained by filling water with gold nanoparticles and special polymeric oil molecules, into which water was squeezed out. The gold nanoparticles and polymer molecules are attracted to and adhere to each other, creating a clear boundary between water and oil. At the same time, the boundary created by nanoparticles and polymer molecules resembles glass in its structure, but this material can be stretched or deformed without losing its "separating" function.

"Boundary stability means that we can extrude water into a tube and it will remain a tube. We can shape water into an ellipsoid and it will retain its shape," the researchers write. for several months."

After that, the researchers took a standard XNUMXD printer and removed all the components associated with extruding plastic, replacing it with a syringe with a thin needle through which water filled with nanoparticles is extruded. And after that, the printer, running standard software, was able to create any form of water tubes in a container filled with silicone oil.

“Now we are able to “conduct” water threads anywhere in three dimensions,” the researchers write, “However, after that we can exert a certain effect on the material, which will violate the stability of the boundary layer and force the water threads to change their shape. This gives us the opportunity endless reconfiguration of printed liquid structures that have a chance in the future to become the basis of reconfigurable liquid electronics."
