New varieties of network laboratory autotransformers (LATRs) have appeared on the Russian market, which allow supplying various loads with alternating voltage, smoothly regulated, without breaking the circuit within 0 ... 250 V. These transformers are produced under the Wusley trademark by Sassin Corporation - one of the largest in the world manufacturers of electrical and wiring equipment.

Laboratory autotransformers of the TDGC2 and TSGC2 series

Devices are intended for a complete set of test and measuring stands and devices. Designed for installation on a flat horizontal surface. The case is metal, with slots for natural air cooling. On the side front panel there are clamps for connecting the mains and load and a pointer voltmeter to control the output voltage. Models with a power of 3 kVA and more are equipped with handles for transportation.

The main technical characteristics of Wusley single-phase laboratory autotransformers are summarized in Table. 1. They are powered by 220 V, 50 Hz.

Laboratory autotransformers of the TDGC2 and TSGC2 series

In table. Figure 2 shows the characteristics of three-phase regulating autotransformers with output voltage variation limits of 0 ... 430 V. Three-phase devices consist of three single-phase blocks, combined vertically. Supply voltage - 220/380 V, frequency - 50...60 Hz.

Laboratory autotransformers of the TDGC2 and TSGC2 series

Autotransformers can operate around the clock at an ambient temperature of 0 ... +40 ° C, relative humidity up to 80% at a temperature of 25 ° C, atmospheric pressure of 86 ... 106,5 kPa. According to the degree of protection, the devices correspond to the IP20 group (non-sealed) according to GOST 14254-80.

All Wusley autotransformers have a certificate of conformity with the State Standard of the Russian Federation and are not inferior in quality to domestic brands of LATRs (AOSN).

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

The fastest non-cluster supercomputer in the world 08.12.2013

Specialists of the Supercomputer Research Center (RSC) of the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) have created the world's first clustered supercomputer without switches. In the system, called CK-Star, eight computers are connected directly to each other. The product was based on Acer servers.

In traditional cluster supercomputers, interaction between nodes is organized using switches. As the number of nodes grows, switching becomes a performance bottleneck. In addition, switches consume significant power. According to some estimates, they can account for up to 50% of total energy consumption. According to the developers of CK-Star, the approach they have chosen allows them to grow the system without encountering these problems in principle.

The CK-Star uses an Intel Xeon Phi coprocessor. According to NCKU, performance as a percentage of the maximum theoretical was achieved at the level of 80,2% for a configuration with four nodes and 77,3% for eight. These are record numbers, surpassing the previous record (79,6% and 76,1% for four and eight nodes) held by Intel.

In addition to CK-Star, NCKU RSC researchers, in collaboration with Gigabyte specialists, have created the GS-R22PHL supercomputer, the performance of which reaches 3,7 TFLOPS. It is claimed to be the highest performing non-cluster supercomputer.
