7.2.39. Power supply for electric motors of fire pumps, smoke protection systems, fire alarm and fire extinguishing systems, and fire warnings should be provided via independent lines from substations, main switchboards or ASU.

7.2.40. The switching on of electric motors of fire pumps and smoke protection systems and fire automatics installations must be accompanied by automatic shutdown of electrical receivers of ventilation and air conditioning systems. Automatic shutdown of other power electrical equipment is allowed, with the exception of fire curtain motors, circulation pumps and elevators.

7.2.41. Fire pump motors should be started:

  • remotely from buttons at fire hydrants - in the absence of sprinkler and deluge devices;
  • automatically - in the presence of sprinkler and drainage devices with remote duplication (for starting and stopping) from the premises of the fire station and pumping station.

The start of electric motors of fire pumps must be controlled in the fire station premises by light and sound signals.

7.2.42. The electric drives of the stage mechanisms must be automatically turned off when the mechanisms reach their extreme positions.

Electric drives of the mechanisms of stage lifts, fire curtains, lifting and lowering platforms and hoisting and transport devices (except for hoists) must have an emergency automatic shutdown of re-release and re-lift directly in the power circuit, after which the start of electric drives by manual or automatic control devices must be prevented.

7.2.43. If the number of stage lifts is more than ten, a control device should be provided on the stage mechanism console, and in its absence, on the assistant director's console, ensuring the simultaneous shutdown of all stage lifts.

7.2.44. For an emergency stop of all mechanisms serving the stage (stage, arena), disconnecting devices must be provided) located in at least two places from where the operation of these mechanisms is clearly visible.

7.2.45. Doors in the enclosures of the rotating part of the stage (stage), lifting and descending platforms of the stage and orchestra, spotlights, technological lifts must be equipped with locking devices that turn off the electric motors when the doors are opened and exclude the start of the mechanisms after closing the doors without additional actions (turning the key, pressing a button and etc.).

7.2.46. Mechanisms that, in addition to an electric drive, have a mechanical manual drive, must be equipped with a lock that turns off the electric drive when switching to manual control.

7.2.47. Contacts of devices and apparatuses designed to ensure safety must work to open the corresponding circuit in the event of a power failure of the coil of this device or apparatus.

7.2.48. The fire curtain must be equipped with interlocks that automatically turn off the electric motor when the traction cables are loosened and the curtain is lowered by gravity. The movement of the fire curtain must be accompanied by light and sound alarms on the stage board and in the fire station.

7.2.49. Control of smoke hatches must provide for the possibility of both simultaneous opening of all hatches and separate opening and closing of each hatch. It is allowed to provide for the closing of smoke hatches manually.

Control of the winch of smoke hatches must be provided from the stage board, from the fire control room and the winch room.

The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

Controlling objects using air currents 04.05.2024

The development of robotics continues to open up new prospects for us in the field of automation and control of various objects. Recently, Finnish scientists presented an innovative approach to controlling humanoid robots using air currents. This method promises to revolutionize the way objects are manipulated and open new horizons in the field of robotics. The idea of controlling objects using air currents is not new, but until recently, implementing such concepts remained a challenge. Finnish researchers have developed an innovative method that allows robots to manipulate objects using special air jets as "air fingers". The air flow control algorithm, developed by a team of specialists, is based on a thorough study of the movement of objects in the air flow. The air jet control system, carried out using special motors, allows you to direct objects without resorting to physical ... >>

Purebred dogs get sick no more often than purebred dogs 03.05.2024

Caring for the health of our pets is an important aspect of the life of every dog owner. However, there is a common assumption that purebred dogs are more susceptible to diseases compared to mixed dogs. New research led by researchers at the Texas School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences brings new perspective to this question. A study conducted by the Dog Aging Project (DAP) of more than 27 companion dogs found that purebred and mixed dogs were generally equally likely to experience various diseases. Although some breeds may be more susceptible to certain diseases, the overall diagnosis rate is virtually the same between both groups. The Dog Aging Project's chief veterinarian, Dr. Keith Creevy, notes that there are several well-known diseases that are more common in certain breeds of dogs, which supports the notion that purebred dogs are more susceptible to disease. ... >>

2 GB/s HBM460E memory 19.08.2019

SK Hynix has announced the completion of the development of the industry's highest bandwidth HBM2E DRAM memory. Compared to the HBM2 memory currently used in supercomputers and graphics accelerators, the throughput has been increased by 50% - up to 460 GB / s (the speed per line reaches 3,6 Gb / s, and the total number of lines is 1024 pieces).

Proprietary TSV (Through Silicon Via) technology allows you to create modules with a maximum capacity of 16 GB, packing eight HBM2E chips with a density of 16 Gb each in one package. For comparison, the maximum size of the current HBM2 modules is 8 GB.

SK Hynix describes HBM2E memory as "the optimal solution for the fourth industrial era, supporting high-performance GPUs, supercomputers, machine learning systems and artificial intelligence systems that require the highest level of memory performance." In other words, this is a high-performance and expensive memory for a new generation of supercomputers, artificial intelligence systems and graphics accelerators.

Serial production of the new HBM2E memory company SK Hynix promises to start next year.
