5.5.14. The cabin and the shaft with its continuous fencing for elevators (lifts) of all types, with the exception of small freight ones, as well as the machine room, the room of the upper blocks, areas in front of the doors, shafts, passages and corridors leading to the elevator, to the room of the upper blocks and to the pit , must be equipped with stationary electric lighting. Electric lighting, except for cabin lighting, must be powered from the building's internal lighting network. Lighting of blind shafts of lifts with automatic doors may be carried out by installing one lamp on the cabin and one lamp under the elevator cabin.

Illumination in the mines should be at least 5 lux.

In glazed or mesh-fenced shafts, permanent lighting is not necessary if external lighting provides sufficient illumination inside the shaft.

5.5.15. One or more sockets for a portable lamp with a voltage not exceeding 42 V must be installed in the machine room, in the upper units room and on the roof of the cabin.

5.5.16. When powering the lighting from the primary circuit of the electric motor, the cabin and shaft lighting lamps must be connected to the network before the input switch or automatic switch of the elevator (elevator) electric motor.

If there is backup lighting in the cabin up to 42 V, it is allowed to turn on the main cabin lighting after the input switch or circuit breaker.

5.5.17. The switch for turning on the cabin and shaft lighting must be installed in the machine room. The lighting of the cabin of a passenger elevator with a moving floor may be designed so that it turns on when the shaft door is open and turns off after all passengers leave the cabin and the shaft doors are closed. It is also allowed to use a switch designed to remotely switch the elevator into operation to turn on the cabin lighting; in this case, the cabin lighting must be turned on simultaneously with the elevator being turned on. This switch should be installed in a locked cabinet on the main landing floor.

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

Primium Seneca keyboard 05.05.2024

Keyboards are an integral part of our daily computer work. However, one of the main problems that users face is noise, especially in the case of premium models. But with the new Seneca keyboard from Norbauer & Co, that may change. Seneca is not just a keyboard, it is the result of five years of development work to create the ideal device. Every aspect of this keyboard, from acoustic properties to mechanical characteristics, has been carefully considered and balanced. One of the key features of Seneca is its silent stabilizers, which solve the noise problem common to many keyboards. In addition, the keyboard supports various key widths, making it convenient for any user. Although Seneca is not yet available for purchase, it is scheduled for release in late summer. Norbauer & Co's Seneca represents new standards in keyboard design. Her ... >>

The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

Post-focusing of Panasonic cameras 05.01.2016

Panasonic has released a new firmware version for three Lumix cameras with a post-focus function. With this feature, the cameras take up to 49 photos simultaneously with a slightly shifted point of focus. All photos are saved in one file. The essence of the new function is that with its help the depth of field of the image can be changed manually after shooting.

The post-focus firmware for Panasonic Lumix GX8, Lumix G70 and Lumix FZ300 can be downloaded free of charge. The manufacturers promised to release firmware for the Panasonic Lumix GH4 camera soon. We have already tested the new firmware and believe that it lacks only two little things.

Panasonic's post-focus feature is a bit like Lytro's revolutionary light field technology: you first take a picture as usual, and only then set the focus area. This feature is still a delight. All the more so for owners of the Lumix GX8, G70, FZ300, and soon the Lumix GH4, for whom this magical option is now available for free.

Instead of light field technology, Panasonic uses its 4K photo mode. Of course, you remember that Ultra-HD video means, in the language of photographers, continuous shooting at 30 frames per second at 8 megapixels each and an almost unlimited number of shots in the series.

Pictures for subsequent post-focusing are only 8 megapixels. But I must say, this is enough to print photos up to A3 inclusive. All 49 shots are stored on the memory card at the same speed as one: the whole shooting process consists of a couple of steps: take a picture, indicate on the touch screen where the focus point will be and save the photo in JPEG format.
