5.2.2. Generators, synchronous compensators and their auxiliaries installed outdoors must be specially designed.

5.2.3. The design of generators and synchronous compensators should ensure their normal operation and for 20-25 years with the possibility of replacing wear and damage parts and assemblies using the main lifting mechanisms and small-scale mechanization without complete disassembly of the machine.

The design of the hydrogenerator and its water supply system should provide for the possibility of complete removal of water and the absence of stagnant zones during repairs at any time of the year.

5.2.4. Generators and synchronous compensators must be equipped with instrumentation in accordance with Ch. 1.6, control, signaling, protection devices in accordance with 3.2.34 - 3.2.50 and 3.2.72 - 3.2.90, AGP devices for protecting the rotor from overvoltage, ARV in accordance with 3.3.52 - 3.3.60, as well as devices automation to ensure automatic start-up, operation and shutdown of the unit. In addition, turbine generators of 100 MW or more and hydrogen-cooled synchronous expansion joints must be equipped with bearing vibration remote monitoring devices. Turbo and hydro generators with a capacity of 300 MW and more must also be equipped with oscilloscopes with a record of the pre-emergency process.

5.2.5. Control panels, relay protection, automation, excitation and direct water cooling of the hydrogenerator should, as a rule, be located in close proximity to it.

5.2.6. The electrical and mechanical parameters of powerful turbo and hydro generators should, as a rule, be taken as optimal in terms of load capacity. If it is necessary to ensure the stability of operation, the parameters of the generators can be taken different from the optimal ones in terms of load capacity when justified by technical and economic calculations.

5.2.7. Generator voltage should be taken on the basis of technical and economic calculations in agreement with the manufacturer and in accordance with the requirements of the current GOST.

5.2.8. The installation of additional equipment for the use of hydro generators as synchronous compensators must be justified by technical and economic calculations.

5.2.9. For installation, disassembly and assembly of generators, synchronous compensators and their auxiliary equipment, stationary, mobile or inventory lifting and transport devices and mechanisms must be provided.

5.2.10. When using external cranes for hydroelectric power plants, simple measures should be taken to prevent the effects of rain and snow on equipment during prolonged opening of premises and installation sites.

5.2.11. Power plants must have facilities for storing reserve stator winding rods. The premises must be dry, heated, with a temperature not lower than plus 5ºС, equipped with special racks.

Serotonin helps burn fat 02.02.2017

Serotonin - the so-called happiness hormone - helps burn fat. This was reported by Researchers from the Scripps Institute (USA).

The researchers conducted the experiment with the roundworm Caenorhabditis elegans, which is often used as a model organism in biology. These worms have simpler metabolic systems than humans, but their brains produce virtually the same signaling molecules as humans.

Scientists were trying to find a gene that is directly related to serotonin and fat metabolism. As a result, a gene was discovered that programs the neuropeptide FLP-7. Experts have suggested that the neuropeptide has an effect on the level of the hormone of happiness in the brain. To confirm their theory, they tagged FLP-7 with a fluorescent protein and then tracked its movement through the body of the worm.

It turned out that FLP-7 is formed at a high level of serotonin. Then it passes into the intestines, where the process of fat burning begins. At the same time, biologists have noticed that if serotonin is added to the body artificially, this will lead to serious malfunctions.
