1.4.16. The heating temperature of conductors during a short circuit should not exceed the following maximum permissible values, º C:

Tires:
copper 300
aluminum 200
steel, not having a direct connection with the apparatus 400
steel with direct connection to devices 300
Cables with impregnated paper insulation for voltage, kV:
to 10 200
20 - 220 125
Cables and insulated wires with copper and aluminum conductors and insulation:
PVC and rubber 150
polyethylene 120
Copper uninsulated wires under tension, N/mm2:
less 20 250
20 and more 200
Aluminum bare wires under tension, N/mm2:
less 10 200
10 and more 160
aluminum part of steel-aluminum wires 200

1.4.17. Checking cables for heating by short-circuit currents, in cases where this is required in accordance with 1.4.2 and 1.4.3, should be carried out for:

1) single cables of the same construction length, based on the short circuit at the beginning of the cable;

2) single cables with stepped sections along the length, based on the short circuit at the beginning of each section of the new section;

3) a bundle of two or more cables connected in parallel, based on the short circuit directly behind the bundle (according to the through short circuit current).

1.4.18. When checking for thermal resistance of devices and conductors of lines equipped with high-speed automatic reclosure devices, an increase in heating due to an increase in the total duration of the short-circuit current through such lines should be taken into account.

Split wires of overhead lines when checking for heating under short-circuit conditions are considered as one wire with a total cross section.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Xerox Phaser 4NI and Phaser 3052DNI A3260 network printers 20.10.2014

Xerox has announced the Xerox Phaser 4NI and Xerox Phaser 3052DNI A3260 laser monochrome network printers. Featuring high performance, affordable price and the ability to print wirelessly from any mobile device based on Android and iOS, the novelties are able to solve a wide range of printing tasks facing small workgroups, Xerox told CNews.

So, Xerox Phaser 3052NI and Xerox Phaser 3260DNI allow you to print both simple documents and high-quality graphics. The compact body of the devices is suitable for an office of any size. In the line of devices for small workgroups, the Xerox Phaser 3052NI printer replaced the Xerox Phaser 3160B and Xerox Phaser 3160N models, and the Xerox Phaser 3260DNI replaced the Xerox Phaser 3250DN.

With print speeds of 26 pages per minute (Xerox Phaser 3052NI) and 28 pages per minute (Xerox Phaser 3260DNI), as well as a fast first print out of 8,5 seconds, the new A4 devices allow workers to spend less time at the printer. The Xerox Phaser 3260DNI comes standard with duplex printing, which also saves time and paper. With a powerful processor (600 MHz) and increased memory (256 MB), the new products provide consistently high print speeds and 4800 x 600 dpi resolution, even if the documents contain a lot of graphics, the company said. At the same time, up to 250-sheet trays mean less paper restocking, while Energy Saver and Toner Save modes reduce operating costs and lower cost per page.

The printers can print on custom sizes and types of paper, transparencies, card stock, and envelopes and postcards.

The new devices provide users with a wide range of document handling options to meet the needs of small businesses anywhere, anytime. You can connect printers to the office infrastructure via Ethernet, Wi-Fi and USB. At the same time, support for mobile devices, implemented thanks to the Apple AirPrint and Xerox PrintBack applications, allows you to send documents for printing from any smartphone or tablet based on Android and iOS.
