2) EMU windings		The results of winding resistance measurements must comply with factory standards
16.4. Measuring the force of pulling the knife out of the fixed contact of the disconnector or separator	К	The measurement results must comply with factory standards, and in their absence, the data in Table. 20 (Annex 3.1)
16.5. Checking the operation of the disconnector, short circuit and separator	К	Manually operated devices shall be verified by performing 5 closing operations and 5 opening operations. Remote controlled devices are tested by performing five closing and opening operations at rated voltage at the terminals of the EMU and electric motors
16.6. Determining timing	К	The measurement results must comply with factory standards, and in their absence - given in table. 21 (Appendix 3.1) with a deviation of no more than ± 10%	The time of movement of moving parts is determined for short-circuiters and separators when disconnected
16.7. Checking the operation of the mechanical interlock	K, T	The interlock should not allow operation of the main knives when the grounding knives are switched on.

A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. Cyborg cockroaches 19.03.2015

Scientists from Texas A&M University (USA) equipped a cockroach with a microchip, from which two electrodes were directed to the nerves that control the legs of the insect. This made it possible to control the movements of the "cyborg" with the help of electrical impulses and to control the movement of the insect from the remote control.

In laboratory tests, researchers were able to control the movements of a cockroach about 70% of the time, and in field tests, up to 60%. The microchip is powered by a tiny lithium battery, so that the total mass of the "backpack" placed on the insect's back does not exceed three grams. Scientists noted that although cockroaches are able to carry loads five times their body weight, in the end this can reduce their endurance.

Scientists plan to use such cockroaches as miniature robots that will perfectly cope with movements in hard-to-reach places, in addition, cameras and sensors can be attached to their body to collect the necessary data. Further research will be aimed at studying the possible habituation of insects to the effects of electrical impulses and the potential failure to execute commands.
