High sensitivity, 0.25-0.15 μV, with a minimum number of amplification stages, allows you to get the proposed mixer. Its conversion steepness is much higher than that of any other mixers. The dynamic range is not high, at about 40 dB, but it is quite suitable for use in radio microphone receivers, broadcast receivers, portable stations, alarm devices, and more. The mixer diagram is shown on pic.1.

The input signal and the local oscillator signal are fed into the base circuit of the transistor VT1. Due to this, the local oscillator does not require much power. The L1C4 circuit is tuned to the operating frequency and is connected to the VT1 base through a large capacitor. Although the transistor is switched on according to the OE circuit for input signals, the stage does not have a strong shunting effect, since it works for these signals not as a conventional amplifying stage, but as a mixer. Due to this, the circuit is completely included in the base circuit and at the same time has a fairly sharp setting. At the intermediate frequency, VT1 turns out to be connected according to the common base circuit due to the large capacitance C3. The output impedance of the stage also turns out to be high, which allows you to include the IF circuit in the collector circuit directly. To ensure good filtering of the local oscillator voltage, the load is made in the form of a P. filter if the IF stage follows. The mixer works better with low IFs of 0.455-1.6 MHz, although it also gave good results for 10.7 MHz.

An example of including L2 and a 10.7 MHz filter is shown in Figure 2. As VT1, the transistor KT-368A, KT399 was used. When choosing ratings, it should be taken into account that with a decrease in capacitance C5, the steepness increases, but the circuit may self-excite.

Before the mixer, UHF should be turned on with a small gain. One option is shown in pic.3.

Here, for simplicity, the transistor operates in the barrier mode. This is part of a single-channel portable radio circuit that does not require pairwise selection of quartz resonators, due to the absence of a ceramic filter. The IF frequency is determined by the tuning of the circuits within 600-900 kHz. In addition, the choice of the fundamental frequency of the resonator is also not critical, since the amplitude of even and odd harmonics is sufficient for the operation of the mixer. The required harmonic is extracted by the base circuit at the same time as the input signal. The local oscillator signal is fed through the reverse biased junction of the VD1 diode. A K174XA6 chip was used as a detector.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Sony Handycam FDR-AX4E 1K camcorder 07.09.2013

Sony showcased its first custom 4K camcorder, the Handycam FDR-AX1E.

The camcorder records 4K and HD movies in XAVC S format using MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 Long GOP for video recording and Linear PCM for audio. The files are saved in the MP4 application. The XAVC-S format is designed for longer recording times, storing nearly two hours of 4K video on an XQD (64GB) memory card. Switching to Full HD shooting mode allows you to save almost 3 hours of 1920 x 1080 / 50p video footage on a single card. The company plans to update the AVCHD format by mid-2014 to make the card compatible with even more current consumer devices.

The FDR-AX1E camcorder is equipped with a 4K image sensor, which allows you to get high quality pictures. The 1/2.3 type Exmor R CMOS sensor truly shoots in 4K resolution (3840 x 2160), four times sharper than Full HD, at 50 fps. A powerful video processor, similar to those used in professional 4K camcorders, quickly processes the signals from the CMOS sensor and displays real-time images at 50 frames per second.

In addition, high image quality is ensured by the Sony G Lens lens with aspherical lenses made of special low dispersion glass. In addition, the lens has a wide range of zoom options, from wide-angle to 20x optical zoom (31,5-630mm, 35mm equivalent). At the same time, Optical SteadyShot keeps the video image clearer and more stable even in telephoto mode.

The FDR-AX1E camcorder has several features that can enrich the user's creative experience, such as three ND filters that adjust the amount of light that enters the image sensor through the lens. Four filter modes are available: Off. (Clear), 1/4 filter, 1/16 filter and 1/64 filter, they allow the user to adjust the lighting conditions while maintaining the desired shooting angle and aperture even on the brightest sunny day. Five color modes (white balance, gamma, detail, skin detail (soft focus) and matrix) that can be combined and adjusted to create a dramatic cinematic effect.

The camcorder is equipped with a built-in stereo microphone and two external XLR connectors for connecting additional microphones.

For ease of use, the FDR-AX1E is equipped with two start/off buttons and a zoom lever on the handle, making it easy to use the zoom when shooting at low angles. In addition, there are separate controls for auto and manual focus, seven buttons can be reprogrammed for any of the functions at the discretion of the user.

The two slots on the FDR-AX1E accept XQD memory cards for high-speed playback and noise-free 4K video recording. As with Sony's professional camcorders, the camcorder seamlessly switches from card XNUMX to card XNUMX during shooting. It is also possible to "hot-swap" the card: removing a full card from the slot and replacing it with an empty one right during the shooting.
