I propose a variant of a simple electronic fuse. It contains few details, you work in the voltage range from 6 to 55 V, and by selecting a current-measuring resistor, you can change the operation current from 10 to 600 mA.

The scheme of the device is shown in fig. one.

Simple electronic fuse

At rated current, the voltage drop across the resistor R2 is not enough to open the transistor VT1. It is closed, and the transistor VT2 is open by the current flowing through the resistor R1. The resistance of the resistor is selected so that in the operating mode the transistor VT2 is fully open.

When the load current reaches the threshold, the voltage drop across the resistor R2 will increase to 1 ... 1,1 V, which, minus the voltage across the diode VD1, is enough to open the transistor VT1. As a result, the transistor VT2 will close, and the current flowing through the resistor R3 will open the transistor VT1 even more.

The resistance of the resistor R2 is selected depending on the load current. The table shows the values of the operating current from the supply voltage with a resistance of the resistor R2 10 Ohm.

Simple electronic fuse

The electronic fuse is assembled on a board made of one-sided foil fiberglass with dimensions of 20x25 mm. Its drawing is shown in Fig. 2. The diode and resistors are installed perpendicular to the board.

Transistor KT503E (VT1) will be replaced by KT503D or any others in which the allowable collector-emitter voltage exceeds the output voltage of the stabilizer. If the voltage at the output of the stabilizer is less than 35 V, you can use transistors of the KT503 series with any letter index. Transistor KT972A (VT2) can be replaced with KT972V, KT972G. It should be placed on the heat sink. With a higher load current in place of the transistor VT2, it is necessary to use more powerful transistors with a high base current transfer coefficient, for example, KT829A, KT829B. Diode - any low-power silicon.

When adjusting, it is desirable, by selecting the resistor R3, to achieve the trigger mode of operation of the device.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

A new family of highly integrated real-time clocks 23.03.2006

INTERSIL has introduced a new family of highly integrated, low power real-time clocks for consumer and industrial applications, the ISL12026/27/28/29.

Microcircuits have a current consumption of 800 nA. The microcircuits have a built-in non-volatile memory of 4 kbit with the possibility of 2 million rewrites and supervisory functions for microprocessors. The microcircuits are frequency-tuned, which makes it possible to maintain high stability of the oscillation frequency.
