ENCYCLOPEDIA OF RADIO ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Refinement of the power supply BP2-3 Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering / Power Supplies This unit is designed to power electronic calculators "Electronics BZ-18" or "Electronics BZ-26" from the mains. In most cases, the calculators themselves are obsolete or out of order for a long time, while the BP2-3 block, having a large "safety margin", is operational and can be used to power consumer electronic devices. The power supply circuit is shown in the figure. A full-wave rectifier is connected to winding II of the network transformer T1, made according to a bridge circuit on diodes VD1-VD4. The rectified voltage is fed to a stabilizer of two transistors, which provides an output voltage of 5 V (jacks "+" and "P" of connector X1) at a rated current of 0,2 A. The power supply has a special socket with three sockets for connecting a calculator. Power supply failures are mainly associated with the failure of the filter capacitor C1, which is easy to determine by the voltage value on it: if it is less than 14 V in idle mode, the capacitor should be replaced with a more "fresh" one. To provide power to any other equipment operating from a voltage of 5 V, it is enough to replace the special SHO-44-ZR socket with the corresponding connector. The output stabilized voltage within certain limits can be adjusted by replacing the VD5 reference zener diode with another one with the appropriate stabilization voltage. So, installing a D814V zener diode turns BP2-3 into a current source with an output voltage of 9 V at a load current of up to 0,1 A. The output voltage of 3 V, necessary to power the audio player, can be easily provided by using a KS139A zener diode. At the same time, a plug corresponding to the player's connector is soldered at the end of the power cable, the cable wires are connected to the "P" and "+" sockets of the power supply. Switch SA1 for this mode must be in position "P" (work). When charging the battery, the switch is placed in the "Z" (charging) position. In order to provide a voltage of 3 V on the "9" and "+" sockets, a D814B zener diode is switched on between them (the anode to the "Z" socket), which, together with the resistor R3 (it should now be 300 Ohm and 1 W power) forms a parametric stabilizer with a voltage of 9 V at a load current of up to 30 mA. As a result, the power supply unit can ensure the operation of equipment that was previously powered by a Korund battery. In this embodiment, a connector block is installed at the end of the cable from a battery that has become unusable. The wires of the cable are connected, of course, to the "Z" and "+" sockets. Now, either one load, or the other, or both at once can consume energy from the power supply unit, if you connect the corresponding reciprocal plug to the X1 connector.
