Usually, the power supply of a phone with caller ID on the Z-80 processor contains a network transformer and a voltage regulator on the KR142EN5A chip. Such a block in operation heats up significantly, wasting electricity and increasing the fire hazard, especially since manufacturers are trying to increase the voltage at the input of the stabilizer to increase the phone's resistance to failures.

I modified and applied in my phone the common power supply "Electronics D2-34-2", leaving the case and the mains transformer from it, and replaced the stabilizer with a pulse one. The output voltage of the stabilizer is 5 V. It can also be used with other equipment designed for this voltage and current 200 ... 300 mA.

The scheme of the device is shown in fig. 1. The frequency of the converter is approximately 120 kHz. Due to the high efficiency - about 80%, excluding losses in the network transformer and rectifier - the switching transistor VT2 does not need a heat sink. This is achieved by the fact that when the transistor VT2 is open, it is in a state close to saturation, which is provided by the current transformer T2.

On the transistor VT3, a node is assembled that controls the operation of the switching element. This node does not allow transistor VT2 to open until the current through resistor R5 is less than the reverse current through diode VD6 and inductor L1. In addition, the conversion frequency becomes dependent only on the difference between the values of the input and output voltage, the inductance of the inductor L1 and the current consumed. This feature of the stabilizer greatly reduces the requirements for the accuracy of the throttle.

In my design for the L1 choke, a ferrite magnetic core was used from the power supply of the Samsung VK-30 video player. The drawing of the magnetic circuit is shown in fig. 2. The winding contains 42 turns of PEV-2 0,5 wire.

The current transformer T2 is wound on a ring magnetic circuit of size 10x6x5 made of ferrite with a magnetic permeability of approximately 800. The primary winding contains 10 turns of PEV-2 0,5 wire, and the secondary winding contains 98 turns of PEV-2 0,2 wire. Both windings are evenly distributed throughout the ring.

The output voltage of 5 V is set with a trimmer resistor R10. The Zener diode VD7, closed in normal mode, protects the load from possible surges in the output voltage.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

steam helicopter 27.08.2001

The propeller of a single-seat mini-helicopter, developed in England, is rotated not by a motor, but by jets of water vapor escaping from nozzles at the ends of the blades.

Concentrated hydrogen peroxide enters these nozzles through the tubes, the catalyst causes it to decompose there, and it turns into superheated water vapor with a temperature of up to 620 degrees Celsius. Steam breaks free at supersonic speeds, accelerating the rotor to 800 rpm.

The steam helicopter reaches speeds of 160 kilometers per hour.
