Currently, many imported car radios produced in the 80s ... 90s of the last century are ending their "life cycle".

The wear and tear of mechanics and the disappearance of compact cassettes as a carrier of audio information made it inappropriate to use car radios as a tape player, and the aging of radio elements and the difficulty in acquiring discontinued spare parts make the repair, restoration and further operation of such devices impractical.

In the tape drive mechanism of the car radio, you can find from one to three small-sized electric motors. From the electric motor designed to pull the magnetic tape, you can remove a miniature speed stabilizer board.

By a simple alteration of this stabilizer, you can get a constant voltage stabilizer. Figure 1 shows a negative polarity voltage regulator circuit.

Engine stabilizer, 5,5-14/5 volts 150 milliamps

The electronic stuffing was used from a worn-out microelectric motor type MC1-5U3LCKS manufactured in 1997.

In order for this node to work in the voltage stabilizer mode, the resistor R1 (conditional numbering) is shorted with a wire jumper.

This greatly reduces the positive current feedback when the output voltage of the regulator rises as the load current increases. In addition to the jumper, capacitors C2 and C4 are added to prevent self-excitation of the stabilizer and reduce output voltage ripple. After the upgrade, resistor R2 and capacitor C3 become unnecessary, and, if desired, they can be removed from the board. The stabilizer includes an integrated circuit with the designation on the body 6605SP. presumably AN6605SR. It is advisable to solder a small brass or copper heat sink to its heat sink flange.

The appearance of the stabilizer is shown in Fig.2.

Engine stabilizer, 5,5-14/5 volts 150 milliamps

A thin round circuit board removed from the electric motor is glued with quick-drying glue to a 50x30 mm single-layer mounting plastic. Capacitors C2 and C4 are glued with the same glue. Flat plate capacitors for surface mounting are used to keep the height of the device low.

With an input voltage of 10 V, the stabilizer consumes a current of about 4,2 mA. The output voltage of the stabilizer can be adjusted with a trimmer resistor R3 within 4,2 ... 5,8 V. When the input voltage changes from 7 to 14 V, the output voltage of the stabilizer increases by 10 mV at a load current of 200 mA. When the load current changes from 0 to 150 mA, the output voltage increases by 100 mV (with an input voltage of 10 V). Thus, the output impedance of the stabilizer is negative, which makes it possible, with an increase in the load current, to compensate for the voltage drop on the connecting wires and thin printed tracks. The thermal power dissipated by the microcircuit should not exceed 1 W.

If this stabilizer is connected to the output of a rectifier that does not have a ripple-smoothing capacitor, then the capacitance C2 must be increased by a factor of 20 ... 50. By reducing the resistance R4 and setting the trimmer resistor R3 of greater resistance, you can expand the range of output voltage adjustment. When the resistance R3 decreases, the output voltage rises.

To increase the output current of the stabilizer, you can install an emitter follower, for example, on a transistor from the KT819 series. In this case, the output resistance of the stabilizer can become positive.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The world may be left without chocolate 19.11.2016

An international group of scientists has come to the conclusion that soon there may be practically no chocolate left in the world. The reason for this will be a serious infection that affects cocoa trees in Latin America.

Experts noted that Latin America is the main producer and supplier of cocoa beans from which chocolate is made. To date, the problem has not yet had time to cause a serious loss to the "sweet industry". But in a few years, this industry may face serious material losses and a shortage of material.

Africa, a region that is also engaged in large supplies of cocoa beans, can slightly resolve the situation. However, in recent years there has been a drought, which greatly hinders the growth of trees. According to experts, even now the demand for chocolate is starting to grow slowly. This provokes an increase in prices and tougher competition between producers.
