When designing a circuit of a wearable electronic product, the designer is faced with the difficult task of how to provide the circuit with a stable voltage when the battery is steadily discharged, and if it is necessary to use a microcontroller with a supply voltage of five volts, then a battery with a much higher voltage will be required and will have to put up with the low efficiency of the parametric stabilizer. There is only one output, it is necessary to use a voltage converter with a stable output voltage. A similar microcircuit MAX756 has been described more than once in the literature.

The author suggests that you familiarize yourself with another converter chip, which has an order of magnitude better ADP2504 parameters. The power supply voltage is 2,3-5,5 volts. The output voltage, depending on the modification, is 2,8-5 volts. QFN case size 3x3mm and height 1mm. The operating frequency is 2,5 MHz, which means the storage inductance is 1-1,5 mH. it can be applied. CHIP inductance size 2,5x2x1mm. The load current can reach 1 ampere, while the filter capacitance is 22,0, 2x1,25x1,25mm in size. The microcircuit has a pin for turning on / off the EN (6-pin) of the converter and the output voltage is reset, and the current consumption is about 1 μA. There is also a converter synchronization pin SYNC (7) to reduce the effect of interference on equipment.

Figure 1 shows a converter circuit that can be used in conjunction with a microcontroller. In this case, you can turn on / off the converter with one button SB1. The device works as follows. After connecting the battery, there is 6 volts at pin 1 due to the pull-up of the resistor R0, while the converter is in the micro-consumption mode.

After pressing the SB1 button, the voltage from the battery passes through the resistor R4, the diode VD1 to pin 6 D1, the converter starts PWM pulses from pin 1 are smoothed by capacitance C3, filtered by the LC circuit L1C1 and fed to the microcontroller power outputs. From the port of the microcontroller, a logical unit is programmatically supplied to R2, and thus the converter continues to work after the button is released. When the SB1 button is pressed a second time, a logical unit appears on the ON_SB1 bus, which is fed to the input port of the microcontroller and the microcontroller programmatically removes a logical unit from the ON_5v bus, the converter turns off.

The device is assembled on a double-sided printed circuit board 13x15mm in size Fig. 2 The second side is completely covered with foil and is the ground and the screen. On the side of the tracks, 5 holes with a diameter of 0,5 mm were drilled to connect the tracks to the ground.

This device uses an ADP2504ACPZ-5.0 chip, inductances L1, L2 - CPL2512T1R5M-TDK capacitors C2, C3 - size 1210-25-22.0-K-X5R-GRM-Murata, C1 - type 1206, resistors size 0402.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>
