The easiest way to "resuscitate" the battery is charging in training mode, when in one period of the mains voltage the battery is charged with a current 5-10 times lower than the battery capacity, during one half-cycle, and discharged with a current 50-100 times lower than the battery capacity. Usually, after ten hours of this mode, most sulphated batteries return to normal.

The figure shows a diagram of the simplest device that implements this mode.

Simple charger for TC-200

During the positive half-cycle, an opening voltage appears on the base of the composite transistor, which is set by resistors R1 and R2.

The transistor opens and through it the charging current flows to the battery. The value of this current depends on the degree of opening of VT1, and therefore on the position of the R2 slider.

The charging current flowing through the battery is measured with a PA1 ammeter.

With the transition of the mains voltage through zero, the transistor VT1 closes, and during the negative half-wave of the mains voltage, the battery is discharged through a powerful resistor R3.

Voltmeter PV1 is used to monitor the voltage on the battery.

It must not be allowed to be more than 14 V. If the battery is heavily sulphated, its internal resistance will be high, and even with a small charging current, an increased voltage (16 - 17 V) will drop on it, this should not be allowed, and at the first stage of "resuscitation" you need to set a current with resistor R2 at which the voltage on the battery will not exceed 14-14,5 volts, and then, after 15-30 minutes, gradually increase the current, observing that the voltage does not exceed 14 volts.

At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the electrolyte does not boil (remove the lids from the jars, and if active bubbling is visible, reduce the current to such a level that it does not exist).

As a basis for the transformer, a TS200 power transformer (it is also possible. TS 180) from tube TVs is used. It is necessary to remove all its secondary windings, then wind new ones - two windings of 40 turns each (on different coils of the transformer). And then connect them in the same way as network windings are connected.

The maximum current that this device produces is up to 15 A, if you need accelerated battery charging, you can set the current to 10 - 12 A.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Biometric lenses make vision three times sharper 30.05.2015

Standard good vision in the field of ophthalmology is the so-called "one" (1,0). But technology may change the idea of perfect vision. The Ocumetrics Bionic Lens takes vision correction to a whole new level and, according to Canadian optometrist Dr. Garth Webb, is the future of the industry. Thanks to Ocumetrics Bionic Lens, a person's vision will be three times sharper than a normal "one".

Ideally, this lens will be implanted in the eye of a patient aged 25 years and older, when the visual system is fully formed. The novelty is currently undergoing clinical trials. According to ophthalmologist Dr. Vincent DeLuise, Ocumetrics Bionic Lens will provide excellent visual acuity at medium distances, far and near.

In the case of successful completion of all research and completion of the development of a serial production process, the novelty may become available in the next two years.

When the devices are turned on, they simply burn out for PA1, a shunt is needed, PA2 is an additional resistance. In the program which the author used, it is necessary to correct the Library of Elements.

I really liked it.

Igor
When assembling the circuit, the input voltage is about 7 volts?
