When designing various devices, radio amateurs often face the problem of the lack of a bipolar power source.

The scheme shown in fig. 8.4, allows you to get a bipolar supply from an ordinary power supply, in addition, it is a stabilizer in itself. Both AC and DC voltage can be applied to the input, in the latter case, the VD1 ... VD4 diodes can be excluded, but the polarity will have to be observed when connecting.

Bipolar voltage from unipolar

Consider the operation of the device. The circuit consists of three simple voltage stabilizers. When connected to a power source, +2 V is supplied to the collector of the transistor VT27, a stabilized voltage of +12 V is removed from its emitter relative to the minus, therefore, the voltage difference between the collector and emitter of VT2 is 15 V. It is this voltage that the transistor VT1 uses, on its emitter relative to the emitter VT2 is also stabilized +12 V, and relative to the minus voltage is +24 V.

However, in the event of a short circuit of the output of the upper arm according to the scheme, the emitter of the transistor VT2 will be closed with the emitter VT1, the voltage on the common wire will be +24 V relative to the minus, in other words, on the lower arm of the relative "common" wire according to the scheme, it will be -24 V. This can lead to the destruction of the powered equipment. To prevent this from happening, a minus stabilizer, assembled on VT3, is installed.

All parts of the stabilizer, except for transistors, are mounted on a printed circuit board (Fig. 8.5) made of one-sided foil textolite 35x95 mm in size.

Bipolar voltage from unipolar

The transistors are mounted on duralumin heat sinks and connected to the printed circuit board with stranded wire segments. Capacitor and resistor values can be changed by 20...25%. If all the details are in good order, a properly assembled circuit does not need to be adjusted and starts working immediately.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Tablet PC ZenPad C 7.0 09.08.2015

Asus introduced the ZenPad C 7.0, a new tablet computer running Android 5.0 Lollipop. The novelty has a screen with a diagonal of 7 inches and is available in two versions of the processor platform, supports voice calls and 3G mobile Internet as an option.

The tablet computer has a design with elements of the Asus corporate identity, reflecting the philosophy of Zen. The back panel of the tablet received an original embossed leather finish. Thanks to the rounded corners of the case and the non-slip coating, the tablet is comfortable to hold in your hand.

ZenPad C 7.0 is available in Wi-Fi (Z170C), 3G and mobile telephony (Z170CG, Z170MG) versions, so each user can choose a device that will suit their personal needs. ZenPad C 7.0 Z170C and Z170CG are equipped with Atom x3 processor, which provides high performance, smooth video playback and low power consumption. ZenPad C 7.0 Z170MG is equipped with a high-speed 64-bit 4-core MTK processor. Thanks to the 2-megapixel main and 0,3-megapixel front cameras with Asus PixelMaster technology, the user can take high-quality photos and shoot videos even in low light conditions.

The new Asus ZenPad C 7.0 is optimized for multimedia applications, so it is equipped with an IPS screen with viewing angles up to 178 degrees and high-quality color reproduction. The Asus VisualMaster technology suite, which includes Asus Tru2Life and Asus TruVivid technologies, utilizes state-of-the-art imaging processes and delivers high quality images.

So, Asus Tru2Life allows you to automatically change the contrast and sharpness of the picture in order to increase the range of displayed shades. In turn, Asus TruVivid is a display manufacturing method that reduces the number of layers of different materials from six to two, which contributes to a sharper, brighter and more colorful image, and also increases the sensitivity of the touch screen.

ZenPad C 7.0, like all representatives of the Asus ZenPad line, supports the new DTS-HD Premium Sound technology, which converts a stereo signal into a virtual multi-channel sound when played through headphones or the tablet's built-in speakers.
