This stabilizer (Fig. 5.30) is designed to power digital devices. ICs that do not impose high requirements on the stability and level of output voltage ripple. The voltage stabilizer is equipped with protection against overcurrent and short circuits.

The printed circuit board of the stabilizer is shown in fig. 5.31.

Relay voltage stabilizer, 15-22/5 volts 10 amps

The main parameters:

  • input voltage, V.....15...22;
  • output voltage, V.....5;
  • protection actuation current, A.....11;
  • ripple level at the output, mV, no more than ..... 100;
  • operating frequency, kHz.....20;
  • load current (max), A.....10.

To obtain such a load current, a composite inclusion of several transistors was used, for better matching of which additional bias voltages are used, taken from rectifiers on diodes VD2, VD3. Resistor R4 is made of thick high-resistance wire wound on a ceramic case from a blown fuse.

Inductors L1, L3 are made of a piece of insulated mounting wire with a cross section of 1,5 ... 2 mm2, passed through four ferrite rings of the M2000NM1 brand, size K16x8x6 with a gap of 0,5 mm each. The L2 inductor is wound on a frame, which is installed in the B36 armor core made of M2000NM1 ferrite. The frame should be made collapsible so that after winding the coils it can be removed. The primary winding is wound with a "cord" of 20 wires of the PEV-1-0,4 mm type, and has 15 turns. The secondary winding consists of two sections; the first section has 6 turns of wire PEV-1-0,8 mm, the second - 2 turns of wire PEV-1-0,4 mm. The end of the first and the beginning of the second section are connected. The diagram shows the beginning of the first section.

After winding the coils, they are released from the frame and filled with epoxy resin. After mounting the coils in the core, a gap of 0,3 mm is set in it. The KT947A transistor can be replaced with KT935, KT912, the KD219 diode with KD213.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Ears need noise 13.09.2004

Hearing needs constant training to stay in shape, and those who live in constant silence are as deafened as workers in a forge and press shop.

German researchers came to this conclusion. A group of physiologists led by Gerald Fleischer from the University of Giessen (Germany) measured the hearing acuity of more than 10 thousand people around the world over several years. At the same time, the noise level of their environment was also recorded.

As expected, people exposed to extremely loud noises at work, such as construction workers, have reduced hearing. But the inhabitants of the quiet countryside are just as deaf. It turned out that, in general, urban residents have better hearing than residents of quiet villages. People in professions such as orchestra musicians and pilots, despite the constant noise during working hours, have unexpectedly sensitive hearing.

Fleischer believes that it is not constant noise that is harmful to the delicate mechanism of the inner ear, but shock loads - individual very loud sounds. On the contrary, constant noise only trains the endurance of the ear. The worst hearing was among the Chinese peasants, who live in silence, which is interrupted several times a year by the explosions of firecrackers and the roar of drums on the occasion of local holidays.
