To ensure reliable operation of the battery, it is necessary to follow the rules for its operation. It is unacceptable to discharge an acid battery to a voltage of less than 1,8 V per cell. A discharged battery should be put on charge after no more than 12 hours, since after this period sulfation of the plates occurs, which in turn leads to a decrease in battery capacity.

Batteries are charged with a current equal to 0,1 Q, where Q is the battery capacity. Charging occurs when the voltage of the charger exceeds the voltage of the battery. I propose a thyristor charger circuit (see figure). The voltage at the output of the charger changes smoothly from 0 to 20 V. The charge current is up to 10 A.

Details. Transformer TV with a power of 180-200 watts. You can use a transformer TS-180-2, in which all windings are removed, except for the primary one at 220 V, and two sections are wound on two coils with a PE wire with a diameter of 2-2,5 mm for a voltage of 25 V. 40 turns are placed in each section.

Diodes VD1 and VD2 type D242A. Thyristors VS1 and VS2 type KU202N. A device for measuring current and voltage can be used with any direct current with a sensitivity of 0,1-1 mA. Depending on the sensitivity, the resistance of the shunt and the additional resistor are selected.

Thyristor control circuit

Diodes VD3-VD6 type D227. Zener diodes VD7, VD8 type D814A. Transistors VT1 type KT361, VT2 type KT315. Resistors R1, R2 each 33 kOhm 0,25 W; R3, R4 51 ohm 0,125W; R6 2 kΩ 0,125 W; R8 15 kΩ 0,125 W; R9 1 kΩ 0,125 W; R10 20 kΩ 0,125 W; R11 30 kΩ 0,125 W; R7 type SP-0,5 150 kOhm; R5 510 Ohm 5 W - load resistor, it is used when setting up the charger. C1 0,1 uF.

For charging, the battery must be connected to the "+" and "-" terminals and, by setting switch S2 to the "U" position, measure the battery voltage. Connect the device to a 220 V network, set the switch to position "A", and charge current with resistor R7 equal to 0,1 Q.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The smallest mini PC from Smartvote 30.05.2013

There is a large selection of mini PCs that double as a TV box and connect to your TV. There are devices both monolithic and with an external Wi-Fi antenna, which solves the problem of poor reception in devices of this type. The dimensions of such devices exceed the dimensions of the "flash drive" several times. However, Smartvote has unveiled its Android 4.1 mini PC, which is more like a flash drive. The dimensions of the device are 68 x 29 x 12 mm, and the weight is 30 g.

The SmartCandy mini PC is based on the Rockchip RK3066 single-chip system, which includes a 9 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A1,6 processor. The amount of RAM is 1 GB, and the built-in flash memory is 8 GB (there is a slot for microSD memory cards). The device does not have wireless modules. This problem is solved by connecting an external Wi-Fi module (included) to the micro-USB port. Also included in the package is a micro-USB to USB adapter.

Interestingly, the manufacturer's website mentions slightly different specifications. Specified processor Telechips, clocked at 1 GHz, RAM 512 MB, built-in flash memory 4 GB, and OS Android 4.0.1.

The SmartCandy Mini PC is priced at $35. For an additional $3, you can purchase an external Ethernet module and a three-port USB 2.0 host controller connected via a micro-USB port.
