ENCYCLOPEDIA OF RADIO ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Voltage converter, 4,5(9)/15 volts 0,2 watts. Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering / Voltage converters, rectifiers, inverters The voltage converter from 4,5(9) to ± 15 V is designed to obtain a bipolar voltage of ± 4,5 V from a unipolar source of 5 ... 15 V. Such voltages are necessary to power some types of microcircuits. The output impedance of the converter is 150 ohms, the stabilization coefficient is about 15, the output power reaches 0,2 W. The output voltage can be changed by resistor R3 in the range from ± 3 V to ± 15 V. In the lower (according to the diagram) position of the resistor R3 slider, the output voltage is equal to the voltage at the zener diode V7; in the upper position of the slider, the output voltage is determined by the parameters of the transformer T1 and the supply voltage. You can increase the stabilization factor to 100 and reduce the output impedance of the converter to 5 ... 20 Ohms, if you install a transistor instead of the Zener diode V1 and add one transistor to amplify the output current (Fig. b). Since the stabilization voltage of most silicon transistors operating in the zener diode mode is in the range of 6,5 ... 7,5 V, the supply voltage should be increased from 4,5 V to 9 ... 12 V. Transformers in both versions of converters are made on K22 X 12 X 6 ring magnetic cores made of M2000NM ferrite. At a supply voltage of 9 ... 12 V, the winding / has 10 + 10 turns, winding II - 60 + 60. At a supply voltage of 4,5 V, the winding / contains 20 + 20 turns. In the first version of the converter, winding III contains 265 + 265 turns, in the second - 116 + 116. All windings are wound with wire PEV-2 - 0,2. The output power can be increased if more powerful transistors V5 and V6 are used by increasing the diameter of the wire of the windings II and III of the transformer 77, respectively. Transistors V4 and V5 in the first version of the converter and V5, V6 in the second should be close in parameters. To avoid interference from any converter, it must be shielded along with the power supply. See other articles Section Voltage converters, rectifiers, inverters.
