For many years I had the LM723 chip on the shelf. Previously, foreign magazines presented designs on this chip in the 80s and 90s. These are well-known magazines "RADIOTECHNIKA" (Hungary), "FUNKAMATEUR" (Germany) and others. Currently, this chip has become available in Russia. The limits for adjusting the output voltage (according to the passport) are from 2 to 37 V. After a little thought, I built a power supply on this chip with the parameters:

Uout...................... 0...30V
Iout...................... 3...5A

Power supply 0-30 volts 3-5 amps on the LM723 chip. Power supply on the LM723 chip
Rice. 1. Power supply on the LM723 chip

Resistor R8 sets the upper limit of adjustment, i.e. 30,4 V. Current and voltage protection can be set to any one that suits you. In the author's version, the indication is digital. The power supply was assembled as an experimental one, was tested and showed good results. At my request, it was repeated by several radio amateurs. There were no complaints. In the author's version, the transformer was taken ShL25 / 40-25. The current was used at 3 A (there was no need for more current). The display unit is made on the KR572PV2A chip. The printed circuit board was developed, depending on the parts used.

Happy repetition. All questions by e-mail.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

First 200V DirectFET Transistor from IR 13.06.2007

The new transistor is designed for use in isolated DC/DC converters powered by a universal bus (36...75 V). With ultra-low channel resistance (51mΩ) and low gate charge, the IRF6641TRPbF is ideal for synchronous rectifiers of high-efficiency, high-current, high-frequency DC/DC converters, the latest generation of bus converters, DC drive, and even 48V wind turbine converters.

In addition, it can be used in high-current AC/DC converters of computers and telecommunications servers powered by a 48-volt bus. The new DirectFET MZ type transistor in SO-8 package dimensions and 0,7 mm package height provides 25 A current with minimal conduction and switching losses. It replaces up to 3 transistors in an SO-8 package and saves up to 50% PCB area.

The transistor provides up to 95% efficiency for synchronous rectifiers, or the same level of efficiency as with twice the number of transistors in the SO-8 package and an output current of 7 A.
