As a device for electronic protection of power supplies, you can use the proposed electronic fuse, included between the sources and the load.

The scheme works as follows. When the load current does not exceed the pre-set trip current, the transistor VT2 is open, and the voltage drop across it is minimal. When the load current increases above the specified one, the voltage drop across the transistor VT2 increases, and therefore the voltage supplied through R4 to the VT1 base increases. Transistor VT1 starts to open.

Electronic fuse

The process occurs like an avalanche due to the presence of positive feedback through the resistor R4. As a result, VT2 closes and no current flows through the load. At the same time, the overload signal lights up. The resistor values shown in the diagram correspond to a voltage of 9 V and a trip current of 1 A. If it is necessary to change the fuse parameters, it is necessary to recalculate the values of the resistances R3 and R4.

where Uin is the input voltage. AT; Vst - static current transfer coefficient of the transistor VT2; In max - maximum load current, A.

The power dissipated in R3 is determined by the formula

R4 at currents up to 1,5 A is calculated from the condition:

R4 = 0,05 Uin (kΩ).

At currents 1,5 ... 10 A:

R4 = 0,02Uinx (kOhm).

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Car Seats with Bluetooth and Auto Adjustment 12.12.2012

Modern automakers seem to be putting all the technological solutions they have on their vehicles, some are redundant, some are simply useless, and some are of some interest and really make life easier for drivers and passengers. One really useful idea was presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show by Faurecia.

Faurecia engineers have developed a luxury car seat equipped with a massage system as well as an electronic control unit. There is nothing fundamentally new in the massage system, for example, Ford releases seats with this function right from the factory. Bluetooth support looks much more interesting. The wireless module is used to connect to a smartphone, on which a special application is installed, it allows you to fully customize the seat for yourself.

For fine tuning, the seat has 12 drives, with their help you can choose the optimal configuration for each. To load presets in the application, you can enter some information about yourself, height, weight and gender. You can even upload your photo so that the system analyzes and receives basic information about the figure and posture of the driver or passenger, based on this data, the seat itself will set the optimal settings.
