Many radio amateurs who have two telephones installed at home know the situation when they speak on one phone, and on the second, without making sure that the line is free, they start dialing, which creates inconvenience in the form of clicks (during pulse dialing) or tonal sound signals that interfere with conversation.
To eliminate this, I suggest installing one of the signaling devices described below or a blocker in telephone sets or telephone sockets, which allows you to simultaneously get rid of eavesdropping on a conversation and "ringing" the phone while dialing on the second telephone set (Fig. 3).
The first signaling device is included in the break of the telephone line and, by lighting up the LED, indicates that the handset on the device is off-hook (Fig. 1).
The second indicator, on the contrary, when the LED is on, indicates that the line is free. It is connected in parallel with the telephone line (Fig. 2).
Capacitors C1, C2 (Fig. 3) are chosen such that the frequency of the oscillatory circuit formed by the relay winding and the capacitor does not coincide with the frequency of the ringing signal from the station (30 ... 60 Hz) and the beep frequency (about 500 Hz), and when tone dialing - also with the frequency of the tone signal. It is better if the frequency of this oscillatory circuit is higher than 10 kHz.
As relays K1 and K2, any low-power relays with a winding resistance of up to 200 ohms and a trip current of not more than 15 mA are suitable.
When a call signal is received from the PBX, with the blocker installed, both phones will ring. The one on which they pick up the phone first will turn on.

Artificial leather for touch emulation
15.04.2024
In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>
The attractiveness of caring men
14.04.2024
The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
