Nothing restores strength and nervous system like healthy sleep. In our stressful times, many suffer from insomnia and resort to chemical psychotropic drugs. But it's dangerous. Negative side effects may occur. But modern medicine very successfully uses electronic devices that have a beneficial effect on the body and are completely harmless. In patients who have undergone electrosleep treatment, their well-being improves, fatigue disappears, and vital activity increases.

Electrosleep devices are usually of two types. In one case, this is a miniature noise generator, similar in character to the murmur of a stream or rain. The device located behind the ear muffles extraneous noise and has a calming effect on the nervous system. The second type is an electronic sleeper in the literal sense of the word. It acts on the body with selected current pulses. Sleeping agents are resorted to only on the recommendation of a doctor and are used under his supervision. Therefore, we recommend making an apparatus of the first type for home conditions.

A small console will allow you to go to bed with the help of a tape recorder, radio or TV to the sound of the surf.

The prefix (Fig. 1) consists of a noise generator (transistor VT1 and a zener diode VD1), an emitter follower VT2, a variable gain stage VT3, VT4 and a control voltage generator VT5, VT6. The source of the noise signal is a silicon zener diode VD1, operating in the so-called avalanche breakdown mode with a small reverse current. To change the gain of the cascade on the transistor VT3, a transistor VT4 is included in its emitter circuit, the base of which receives a signal from the control voltage generator through the resistor R7 and the integrating circuit R8, C4. It is a symmetrical multivibrator on transistors VT5, VT6. Periodically changing resistance between the collector and emitter of the transistor VT4 causes a corresponding change in the gain of the cascade on the transistor VT3. As a result, the noise signal at the output will periodically rise and fall, simulating the sound of the surf.

The duration of rise and fall of the control voltage can be changed by selecting resistors R8, R10, R11 and capacitor C4.

The details of the prefix are mounted on a board made of foil-coated getinax with dimensions of 70-55 mm. Any stabilized power supply with a voltage of 22 ... 25V can serve as a power source.

Setting up a prefix is usually not required. It is ready to work immediately after connecting the power supply. And you can check its performance using TON-2 headphones (or other similar ones) included in the X1 "Output" sockets. The nature of the sound of the surf is changed by selecting the supply voltage, as well as by shunting the sockets X1 with a capacitor C7 with a capacity of 1000 - 3000 pF.

Enjoy your dreams!

The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

Controlling objects using air currents 04.05.2024

The development of robotics continues to open up new prospects for us in the field of automation and control of various objects. Recently, Finnish scientists presented an innovative approach to controlling humanoid robots using air currents. This method promises to revolutionize the way objects are manipulated and open new horizons in the field of robotics. The idea of controlling objects using air currents is not new, but until recently, implementing such concepts remained a challenge. Finnish researchers have developed an innovative method that allows robots to manipulate objects using special air jets as "air fingers". The air flow control algorithm, developed by a team of specialists, is based on a thorough study of the movement of objects in the air flow. The air jet control system, carried out using special motors, allows you to direct objects without resorting to physical ... >>

Purebred dogs get sick no more often than purebred dogs 03.05.2024

Caring for the health of our pets is an important aspect of the life of every dog owner. However, there is a common assumption that purebred dogs are more susceptible to diseases compared to mixed dogs. New research led by researchers at the Texas School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences brings new perspective to this question. A study conducted by the Dog Aging Project (DAP) of more than 27 companion dogs found that purebred and mixed dogs were generally equally likely to experience various diseases. Although some breeds may be more susceptible to certain diseases, the overall diagnosis rate is virtually the same between both groups. The Dog Aging Project's chief veterinarian, Dr. Keith Creevy, notes that there are several well-known diseases that are more common in certain breeds of dogs, which supports the notion that purebred dogs are more susceptible to disease. ... >>

Electric battery made of concrete 26.07.2023

The bright future of energy delivery is closer with the innovative Noise Buds VS104 Max TWS earphones, created using a completely unique technology. This time, scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have introduced "concrete batteries" - efficient energy storage devices that can turn cement itself into a conductor of electricity. This major breakthrough could enable energy storage systems to be embedded directly into building materials in the future, powering homes, roads and vehicles.

Cement, the main component of concrete, is generally a poor conductor of electricity. However, the researchers were able to change its properties by adding carbon black. The resulting material allows you to create ionistors - effective devices for the accumulation of electrical energy. Experiments confirmed the functionality of "concrete batteries" that successfully powered an LED light bulb.

Capacitors, also known as supercapacitors, are efficient devices that combine the advantages of capacitors and chemical batteries. They have leading electrodes and a conductive electrolyte capable of accumulating charges. Such a system is safe and reliable due to the use of non-combustible materials.

MIT researchers have unveiled a new way to integrate superconductors into structural materials, including concrete. As a result of mixing cement with carbon black and water, a leading network is formed inside the hardened structure, which contributes to the accumulation of electrical energy.

The effectiveness of "concrete batteries" has been proven in practice: an ionistor created from them is capable of feeding an LED, and the total capacity of such a battery can store up to 10 kilowatt-hours of energy - enough to provide an average private house with electricity for the whole day.

Particularly attractive is the fact that affordable and cheap materials are used to create these "concrete batteries", which simplifies their mass production. If successfully scaled up, this technology could transform the construction industry by allowing energy storage systems to be integrated into various buildings and even roads, providing a sustainable and efficient energy supply.
