A simple electric sleep device for individual use is shown in the figure.

Electrosleep is harmless and gives good results in the treatment of neurosis, asthenic conditions and schizophrenia. It is used in the treatment of high blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmia, bronchial asthma, etc. Electrosleep is understood as sleep or a relaxed state in the absence of sleep, which occurs under the influence of a weak (no more than 0,2 mA) pulsed current on a person. When conducting an electrosleep session, one electrode of the device is placed on the frontal area, closer to the bridge of the nose, and the other on the back of the head, closer to the neck.

The electrodes are made in the form of lead plates with an area of 2 cm2, wrapped with gauze soaked in a weak solution of sodium chloride, and then bandaged to the head. The direction of the current is prescribed by the doctor. Usually, in the so-called upward direction, when a cathode (minus) is applied to the forehead, and an anode (plus) is applied to the back of the head, sleep is better. The reverse direction of the current eliminates headaches better. The proposed device, due to the saturation of the transformer core, makes it possible to generate bell-shaped pulses with a repetition rate of 50 and 100 Hz. A frequency of 100 Hz creates sometimes a stronger effect, so it is not recommended for the treatment of children and the elderly.

Details. Transformer T1 is assembled on a permalloy core Ш6 x 8. The primary winding contains 1000 turns of PEV-0,08 wire, the secondary - (1000 + 1000) turns of the same wire. To ensure good insulation of the windings from each other, they are performed on separate frames, located on the extreme core rods. Neon lamp type MN-3 is used to protect against overcurrent. Resistance R1 is vitrified, wire, with a power of "10 W. The shape and duration of the pulses depend on its value. The magnitude of the current and voltage is regulated by resistors R4 and R2, respectively. The milliammeter is designed for current up to 2 mA. Before using the device, it must be checked for breakdown with a test voltage of 3 kV between the primary and secondary windings of the transformer, as well as between the primary winding and the core.In this case, the insulation resistance should be approximately 100 MΩ.Use the device under the supervision of a physician.

After analyzing this circuit and the principle of electric sleep, I came to the conclusion that you can assemble the device simply by taking a step-down transformer (for example, from a power supply), then connect a rectifier to it (but without smoothing!), Thus we get a pulsating current with a frequency of 50 or 100 Hz (this is depends on the type of rectifier: on one diode or on 4), which is what we need. It remains only to lower the current to 3 mA (this is an important point, exceeding the current can damage the brain) and apply current to the electrodes.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Finder Series 72 Liquid Level Control Switch 01.10.2015

Level control switches are mainly used to turn the pump on / off when the liquid reaches a predetermined level or to prevent leakage. Such relays are used in automatic control systems for filling / draining liquid in tanks - in wells, in sewers, in chemical reactors.

Model 72.11 has a fixed sensitivity (150 kOhm) and a time delay (1 second), in model 72.01 (for example 720180240000 for 24 V DC, 720182400000 for 220 V AC) they can be changed (5...150 kOhm, 0,5/7 seconds). At the same time, the same relay can be used for both filling and draining. The work of the 72nd series is based on the principle of "positive logic". Using two electrodes, it is possible to determine the level relative to one electrode - above / below. By adding a third electrode, you can control three levels - above / within / below.

The relay is used with liquids with sufficient resistivity - tap water, spring water, rain water, sea water, waste water, liquids with a small amount of alcohol, milk, liquid fertilizers.

Positive logic provides additional security. If the relay fails or the control voltage is interrupted, the relay will automatically open the contacts. This will prevent overfilling or running the pumps dry.

Turning on/off the pump when approaching the lower/upper level is controlled by the delay value. Decreasing it provides more precise level control, but increases the frequency of pump operation. The shutter speed should be set based on the volume of the tank and the rate of its filling / drainage.

The durability of the electrodes depends on the distance between them. The larger it is, the less often the switching of contacts will occur and, which will increase the lines of the contact service.

Single-phase electric motors of small power (up to 0,55 kW) can be connected directly to the relay circuit. If frequent switching on / off of the motor is expected, an intermediate relay or contactor must be used. In powerful motors, you need to use a contactor. The maximum distance between the electrode and the relay is 200 m.

As an electrode, it is recommended to use a float switch of the 72A1 series (for technical water supply) or 72B1 (for dirty water).
