The device is designed to protect the premises (shop, apartment) using a motion sensor and a door opening sensor (normally closed contacts).

If several sensors are to be used, they must be connected in series.

The algorithm works

Immediately after turning on the power, the device starts counting the time (with one LED blinking) allowing you to leave the room without raising an alarm. The local speaker sounds for 30 seconds, giving short beeps. Then the device dials to the programmed phone number and with a certain sound signal informs that it goes into armed mode. After this procedure, the control of the sensors begins.

LED indication

One LED flashes (indicator of the presence of a 220 V network), one is constantly on.

The three LEDs are lit at the same time only during an alarm.

After the alarm messages have been processed (if the sensors have returned to normal), 2 LEDs will remain flashing, indicating that a trigger has previously occurred.

This state will remain until the first re-arming (switching off and on the device).

LEDs are installed outside the protected area on the door frame from the outside.

When the door opening sensor opens, a countdown will begin, during which the guard or the owner of the premises must turn off the device using a secret switch.

If this does not happen after a minute, the siren will turn on and dialing to the programmed number (or several numbers) will start with an alarm sound.

If motion is detected inside the premises (motion sensor), the alarm will rise instantly (it is assumed that the intruder did not enter through the doors) and dialing will begin with an alarm sound.

The device also has an incoming call answering mode. The answer will be one tone if there was no alarm and another if the sensor was triggered.

This function is useful if the landlord was out of the coverage area of his mobile phone for some time and was not able to receive an alarm call.

Simply put, a family that is, for example, on vacation will always be able to find out by phone whether everything is in order at home.

The operation of the entire device is controlled by the 16F628A microcontroller. The HEX file is programmed with a random phone number. For firmware for the device, contact the author.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Washing wine corks 06.03.2003

Every year 20 billion bottles of wine are bottled in the world, and this number is constantly growing. An important problem for large wine producers is the quality of the cork.

If the wine acquires the taste and smell of capping, its price immediately drops sharply. This characteristic smell is given to cork by the so-called chloranisols, strong-smelling compounds that are released by bacteria and fungi that sometimes settle on natural cork. A few thousandths of a milligram of chloranisols per gram of cork is enough to ruin a vintage wine.

French scientists from the Scientific Center for Atomic Energy have developed a method for washing stoppers from chporanisols with carbon dioxide under high pressure and at a temperature of 31 degrees Celsius. The gas washes out odorous compounds from the smallest pores of the cork. The best French tasters, whose tongues are 10 times more sensitive than the most modern chromatographs, found no unpleasant taste or smell in washed-corked wines.
