In discos, bars, clubs, etc. very often you can find a wide variety of automatic lighting effects, they are not uncommon in everyday life. First of all, these are all kinds of "running lights" and "flashing pictures", but more complex lighting effects are also possible. As emitters for such automata, colored garlands are usually used, made up of many low-power light bulbs, less often single emitters or spotlights. The control units of any modern more or less complex automata of lighting effects are built on the basis of digital circuitry. These can be the simplest circuits using two or three microcircuits of shift registers and clock generators, and entire microcomputers with their own central processor, memory and controls, working according to freely changeable or hard-coded programs.

Figure 1 shows one of the simplest schemes. Despite its simplicity, it is quite effective and allows you to implement several combinations of switching on garlands: "running lights", "running shadow" and two options for switching on in pairs. The machine is implemented on only two microcircuits and is extremely easy to repeat.

The operating mode of the machine is set using the SA1-SA4 switch block and the KH1 button. The basis of the machine is the shift register chip DD2. A clock generator is assembled on the DD1 chip, the frequency of which can be smoothly adjusted by the resistor R1.

When the supply voltage is turned on through the RC circuit, the reset pulse is fed to the input R of the DD2 microcircuit. Next, the user must enter the work program into the machine. This is done as follows: the switches S1-S4 are set to a certain combination and the KH1 button is pressed, as a result of which a high level is formed at the inputs SL and SR of the DD2 microcircuit, according to the decay of the next pulse at the input C, the information specified by S1-S4 is written to the register. Resistors R17, R18 and switch S5 make up a circuit that, by generating signals at the inputs SL and SR, sets the direction of information shift in the register, i.e. the direction of movement of a running fire or a running shadow.

From the output of the DD2 microcircuit, the control signals are fed to the transistor switches VT1-VT4, which control the power triacs. The use of triacs made it possible to do without power rectifier diodes. With a total load per channel of up to 500 W, heat sinks for triacs can be dispensed with, but with a higher load power (possibly up to 2 kW), the use of such radiators is mandatory. The stabilized voltage source for powering the control circuit can be any with a power of 5 ... 10 W.

When setting up and operating the device, one should not forget that the structure is under the potential of the network ~ 220 V.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

The order will be delivered by drone 06.12.2013

Amazon is about to launch a new service - Prime Air. If the buyer chooses this method of delivery of goods from the online store, then within 30 minutes the purchase will be delivered by a drone robot. It is planned to launch this service in American cities in the next 4-5 years.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos told CBS about this. He believes that the new delivery method will be introduced to his company within 4-5 years.

Bezos said that the delivery will be fully automated. Human participation will be required only in the warehouse: the employee will need to take the product from the shelf, place it in a container, and then simply put it on the conveyor belt. The drone will automatically pick up the container at the other end of the belt and deliver it to the right address.

A drone delivery service called Prime Air will be a separate option when ordering the product. The delivery time of the goods when choosing a service is no more than 30 minutes.

Prime Air is being developed by Amazon's research department. In addition, the company is negotiating with the FAA - the US Federal Aviation Administration to obtain permission for the commercial operation of drones. Amazon expects the FAA to formulate all requirements by 2015.

Amazon said in a statement about the new service: "One day, Prime Air drones in the air will be as commonplace as trucks on the road."
