The flash lamp IFC-120, used in photography, has a sufficiently large light energy. The proposed device with this lamp can be used as an original lighting design for music discos. The movements of the dancers, snatched out of the darkness by a flash, seem to be intermittent and this creates a kind of beautiful spectacle.

The device consists of a timer that regulates the time the flash is on and the time it is off. It is possible to adjust the flash frequency.
The timer is assembled on a KR1006VIG chip. The microcircuit generates a signal with independent pulse duration (flash on) and pause (flash off). The duration of the pause is regulated by the resistor R5 within 0 - 1,5 minutes, and the duration of the pulse - by the resistor R3. By the way, the last resistor does not have to be made variable, since you can immediately select the optimal duration of the flash.
When the device is turned on, capacitor C3 begins to charge through resistor R1. After power is applied, the output of the timer DA1 is set to a high voltage level. Relay contacts K1 close. After charging C1 to a voltage of 2/3 Upit. at the output of the timer DA1, the voltage drops to almost zero. The relay contacts open. After switching the timer DA1, the capacitor C1 will start to discharge through the resistors R4, R5. If more pauses are needed, you can increase the values \u1b\u5bof CXNUMX and RXNUMX.
The part of the circuit that feeds the IFC-120 lamp consists of a half-wave rectifier on the VD5 diode, a timing chain R8, R9, C5 of a pulse generator on the VD4 dinistor.
When the mains voltage is applied, the capacitor C5 begins to charge. If the contacts K1.1 are closed, then when the capacitor reaches a voltage equal to the opening voltage of the VD4 dinistor, a current pulse passes through the winding I of the step-up transformer T2. On the winding II, and hence on the igniting electrode of the lamp, a high voltage pulse appears. The lamp flashes, and the capacitor C5 is discharged through it. Then the process is repeated.
The flash frequency can be adjusted by resistor R8, starting from 2 Hz. If it is necessary to increase the flash energy, you can use a larger capacitor C5 and connect a zener diode in series with the dinistor (anode to the dinistor anode) to the appropriate stabilization voltage. The sum of the voltages for opening the dinistor and stabilizing the zener diode must not exceed the rated voltage of the capacitor C5.
The device uses resistors R5, R8 - SPZ-9A. Trimmer R3 - SPZ-16. Capacitors C3 - K50-16 (K50-6), C4-MBM, C5 - EGC. As the latter, several capacitors connected in parallel can be used. The dinistor can be made up of five dinistors of the KN102B type by connecting them in series. In parallel, each dinistor should solder a 1 MΩ resistor. Diodes VD1, VD2 can be replaced with KD533B. Relay RES10 - with passport RS4.524.305 or RS4.524.316.
Transformer T2 is made on a ring core of size K10x6x3 from M2000NM ferrite. Winding I should contain 4 turns of wire PESHO 0,31, winding P - 60 turns PESHO 0,1. Transformer T1 - any with a voltage on the secondary winding of 12 V and a permissible current of 15 mA.
