The probe can determine the suitability of any bipolar and field-effect transistors of low and medium power, for example, KP902, KP356, KTZ15, GG402, etc.
The probe is an audio frequency generator. The diagram shows the connection of a field effect transistor with two insulated gates. If there is only one insulated gate or a bipolar transistor, the terminals XS1, XS3 "hang" in the air.
The connection of the bipolar transistor is as follows: XS5 - emitter, XS4 -collector, XS2 - base. The gate of the field-effect transistor with p-n junction is connected to XS3. Head phones - with a resistance of 1,6 kOhm. You can also use 50 ohms, but in this case, the resistance of half of the secondary winding T1 must be at least 80 ohms.
By connecting the transistor, by rotating the knob of the resistor R5, stable generation is achieved. If there is no generation, the conclusions of the primary winding T1 are swapped.
Transformer T1 - matching, from the radio designer "Malchish". Resistance of the primary winding - 430 Ohm, secondary - 2x90 Ohm. It is possible to use another matching transformer, but in this case you will have to select the elements of the circuit.
