The capacitance of a capacitor depends on the dielectric between its plates. For the selected bulk material (grain, sugar, raisins, building materials, etc.), the capacitance of the capacitor sensor depends on the moisture content of the material.

The meter allows you to evaluate the moisture content of bulk materials and contains a master oscillator made according to the multivibrator circuit on transistors V1, V2, a measuring circuit, a calibrator and a sensor. The capacitive type sensor C1 is connected in parallel with the capacitor C3. The multivibrator is balanced by the resistor R4 according to the zero reading of the arrow of the RA1 device. With an increase in the capacitance of the sensor C1, the symmetry of the multivibrator is violated and the arrow of the measuring device deviates. Calibration of the device is carried out using the voltage regulator on the transistor V3, for this, when the key S1 is pressed, the resistor R9 sets the arrow to the last division of the scale.

The sensor consists of two single-sided foil textolite plates 105 x 40 mm in size, spaced 15 mm apart. The foil layer on the plates is removed from the edges of the plate by 3 mm. The calibration of the device is carried out according to an industrial device or by trial measurements of the mass of the material during the drying process.

Details. Transistors of the type KT315, KT312, KT306 or assembly K125NT1 with a transfer coefficient greater than 70; mica, paper, film capacitors with low TKE; measuring device with a scale of 100 μA.

The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

Controlling objects using air currents 04.05.2024

The development of robotics continues to open up new prospects for us in the field of automation and control of various objects. Recently, Finnish scientists presented an innovative approach to controlling humanoid robots using air currents. This method promises to revolutionize the way objects are manipulated and open new horizons in the field of robotics. The idea of controlling objects using air currents is not new, but until recently, implementing such concepts remained a challenge. Finnish researchers have developed an innovative method that allows robots to manipulate objects using special air jets as "air fingers". The air flow control algorithm, developed by a team of specialists, is based on a thorough study of the movement of objects in the air flow. The air jet control system, carried out using special motors, allows you to direct objects without resorting to physical ... >>

Purebred dogs get sick no more often than purebred dogs 03.05.2024

Caring for the health of our pets is an important aspect of the life of every dog owner. However, there is a common assumption that purebred dogs are more susceptible to diseases compared to mixed dogs. New research led by researchers at the Texas School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences brings new perspective to this question. A study conducted by the Dog Aging Project (DAP) of more than 27 companion dogs found that purebred and mixed dogs were generally equally likely to experience various diseases. Although some breeds may be more susceptible to certain diseases, the overall diagnosis rate is virtually the same between both groups. The Dog Aging Project's chief veterinarian, Dr. Keith Creevy, notes that there are several well-known diseases that are more common in certain breeds of dogs, which supports the notion that purebred dogs are more susceptible to disease. ... >>

Single-chip system Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus 26.07.2019

Qualcomm has introduced a new single-chip platform in the Snapdragon 800 family of flagship-level solutions. The novelty is called Snapdragon 855 Plus and, as you might guess from the name, is an improved version of the already well-known Snapdragon 855 model, which is used in most flagship smartphones this year.

Architecturally, the new Snapdragon 855 Plus is completely identical to the regular Snapdragon 855. The built-in modem and process technology is also old - Snapdragon X24 with LTE support and data transfer rates up to 2 Gb / s (with the option of installing an external Snapdragon X50 5G modem) and 7-nm.

The main and only difference between the Snapdragon 855 Plus and the regular Snapdragon 855 is the slightly increased CPU and GPU frequencies. So, in Snapdragon 855, the operating frequency of the most productive CPU core Kryo 485 reaches 2,96 GHz versus 2,84 GHz for the regular Snapdragon 855. That is, the increase is a modest 4%. But for the Adreno 640 GPU, the increase is much more significant - as much as 15%. In theory, this means that the Snapdragon 855 Plus should deliver noticeably better gaming performance. And yes, the increase is considerable, but will it be noticeable in real games?

The manufacturer also mentions that the new Snapdragon 855 Plus is better optimized for gaming, VR, AI tasks, and 5G. The latter is puzzling, given that the Snapdragon 855 Plus is equipped with the old Snapdragon X24 modem, and 5G support provides, as in the case of the Snapdragon 855, the installation of a separate X50 modem. Obviously, the new built-in 5G modem Snapdragon X55 is reserved for the next generation flagship SoC Snapdragon 865 (probable name).

Snapdragon 855 Plus is already available to the company's partners, and the first commercial solutions based on it are promised in the second half of this year. Given the gaming focus of the Snapdragon 855 Plus, it is only logical to expect this platform in future gaming smartphones. Until the end of this month, the announcement of the new ASUS ROG Phone II is expected, which may well be the first model on the Snapdragon 855 Plus. In addition, there is a small chance that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note10 smartphone for some markets will also use an improved version of the Snapdragon 855 Plus.
