Electrolytic capacitors change their capacitance during operation and storage, so sometimes it becomes necessary to measure their capacitance.

The principle of operation of a capacitor capacitance meter from 3000 pF - 300 μF is based on measuring the pulsating current flowing through the capacitor. The variable component of this current is proportional to the capacitance of the capacitor.

Capacitance meter for electrolytic capacitors

The lower limit of the capacitance of the measured capacitors is limited by the sensitivity of the current meter; the upper one is the time constant of the discharge circuit of the investigated capacitor and the resistor connected in series with it.

Capacitor Co - calibration. Before the measurement, the contacts of the switch S3 are closed and the arrow of the device is set to the mark corresponding to the capacitance of the exemplary capacitor with the resistor R7.

Alternating current is obtained by half-wave rectification of a reduced mains voltage. Transformer T1 - network, from any tube broadcast receiver. It must have a filament winding for a voltage of 6,3 V and a current of at least 1 A. The dissipation power of the resistor R1 is at least 5 watts. Two fuses are needed - one in the power circuit, the second protects the pointer in case of short circuit of the terminals to which the capacitor Cx is connected, or in the event of a breakdown of the capacitor under test.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

LG Tone Free FP Wireless Headphones 29.07.2021

LG has introduced a series of wireless headphones Tone Free FP. The main feature of the new products is the "Whispering Mode". When activated, the right earpiece can be removed and used as a microphone, for example, while talking on the phone. The manufacturer believes that in this way it is possible to increase the level of privacy in situations where it is necessary to speak more quietly with the interlocutor.

The LG Tone Free FP series of wireless headphones includes three models: FP5, FP8 and FP9. They all have very similar characteristics. For example, all are equipped with an active noise reduction system, three microphones per earpiece, and also meet the IPX4 waterproof standard. The earbuds are 4,4mm shorter than previous LG TWS earbuds, making them more comfortable to wear. The manufacturer claims that the improved drivers and diaphragms of the Tone Free FP models provide enhanced low bass frequencies without compromising the clarity and purity of the sound. And support for Headphone Spatial Processing and 3D Sound Stage technology gives them surround sound.

Despite similar characteristics, each model has its own distinctive features. For example, the most interesting feature of the FP9 is the ability to use their case as a wireless transmitter. This is useful in cases where the headphones need to be connected to a non-Bluetooth audio source. The USB Type-C to AUX adapter cable allows you to connect the case to anything from game consoles to an aircraft media system. A similar feature is endowed, for example, with the Bowers & Wilkins PI7 wireless headphones, introduced earlier this year.

In addition, the FP8 and FP9 models feature UV disinfection technology that, according to the company, kills up to 5% of bacteria that may have settled on the speaker grille in just 99,9 minutes. Also, these two models offer longer battery life than the FP5 model. They can work without recharging up to 10 hours, and with a charging case - up to 24 hours. The FP5 model, in turn, provides 8 and 22 hours of operation, respectively. The FP8 is the only one in the LG Tone Free FP series of wireless headphones that supports wireless charging.
