This one differs from other designs in small dimensions, a small number of parts used and, at the same time, a sufficiently high sensitivity. This field detector uses a new circuit design. It is well known that the measurement of RF voltages less than 0,5 V is difficult because already at an alternating voltage of less than 0,2-0,3 V, all semiconductor diodes become ineffective. However, there is a way to measure small AC voltages using a balanced diode-resistive bridge, which allows you to measure voltages less than 20 mV with a uniform frequency response up to 900 MHz. A schematic diagram of a device using this method is shown in the figure.

The basis of this device is a DA1 chip of type KR1112PP2. This microcircuit includes a device for determining the balance of an electric bridge with an indication. The microcircuit has a built-in reference voltage source.

The signal induced in the antenna is amplified by a broadband aperiodic high-frequency amplifier based on a VT1 transistor of the KT3101 type. The amplified high-frequency alternating voltage through the capacitor C3 enters the diode-resistive bridge on diodes VD1-VD4 of the GD507 type and resistors R3-R5. A small (about a few microamperes) direct current flows from the reference voltage source (pin 3 of the DA1 chip) through resistors R3-R5 and diodes VD1-VD4, which improves detection conditions and increases the sensitivity of the detector. Only diodes VD1 and VD2 are involved in rectifying the measured alternating voltage, while the other two - VD3, VD4 - form the adjacent bridge arm, on which the initial voltage is created, balancing the bridge, and at the same time serve for its thermal compensation.

All diodes are selected with the closest possible current-voltage characteristics. Capacitor C4 filters out the AC component of the rectified voltage. Resistor R4 is used to accurately balance the bridge. When well balanced, the device will only respond to the voltage resulting from the rectification of the measured signal.

The rectified voltage and the voltage balancing the bridge are fed through resistors R7 and R8 to the inputs of the DC amplifier located in the DA1 chip. Depending on the state of balance of the bridge, the indication signal is sent to one of the LEDs VD5 or VD6 - type AL307. Thus, when the bridge is balanced (no signal), the VD5 LED is on, and when there is a signal (bridge imbalance), the VD6 LED is on. As diodes VD1-VD4, you can use any high-frequency diodes. LEDs can be of any type.

A 2,5-5 V DC source is used as a power source.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

poison against poison 13.09.2003

Two well-known toxic substances - benzopyrene and tributyltin - can serve as an antidote to one another. This conclusion was made by biologists from the Institute for the Study of the Sea at the University of Quebec (Canada).

Benzopyrene, found in tobacco smoke, for example, is a powerful carcinogen. More precisely, in the body it turns into such under the action of one of the enzymes. Tributyltin is an organic tin compound that is poisonous to marine animals, and especially to their larvae. This substance is added to the paint for the underwater part of the hull of ships so that they are not overgrown with mollusks, worms and corals.

It turned out that tributyltin inhibits the activity of the very enzyme that turns benzopyrene into a carcinogen. In turn, benzopyrene reduces the toxicity of tributyltin. This was found in experiments with fish, in aquariums to which one of the substances or both were added at once.

The discovery may have practical implications for medicine.
