From many of the insects and larger creatures around us, we would like to stay away. But since this is not always in our power, a person is looking for ways to at least keep this attack at some distance from himself. Recently, great hopes have been placed on various kinds of ultrasonic "tweeters", including made in ... Such a device is described below. And to what extent it will be effective, everyone who made it will be able to find out and evaluate it for himself.

A schematic diagram of an ultrasonic "tweeter" capable of operating in a wide frequency range is shown in Fig. 93. Here VA1 is a powerful high-frequency dynamic head, for example, 6GDV-4, is a source of acoustic vibrations. The power source of the ultrasonic generator must be able to supply the current Ipot = (Upit-2) / Rn (Ipotr - in amperes, Upit - the power supply voltage of the "tweeter" - in volts, Rn - in ohms).

Of course, for creatures of different species, intolerant or frightening frequencies can and will most likely be different. But the creation of a multi-frequency "scarecrow" with "floating" or "jumping" frequencies, with one or another of their modulation-keying - is not a problem. The main thing is to establish in a direct experiment those parameters of ultrasound at which a significant effect is achieved.

In this regard, we note that in ultrasonic "scarecrows" that have appeared on our markets, a piezo emitter is almost always used - an element with pronounced resonant properties. So a foreign device that frightens (according to advertising) at its frequency some kind of, say, a Taiwanese mosquito, may not make any impression on ours *. And it doesn't seem to work...
