Your attention is presented to the project of a gas leak detector, which can detect most of the gases dangerous to humans: smoke, liquefied gas, butane and propane, methane, alcohol, hydrogen, etc. GH-312 is used as a sensor.

I used a 9 volt battery to power the circuit. When the sensor is triggered, it outputs 5 volts, which is ideal for direct connection to the microcontroller. Although, even if you use 12 volts for power, the circuit would be working, because. for the GH-312 sensor, the allowable supply voltage range is from 9 V to 20 V, and the voltage regulator 7805 is used to power the microcontroller.

First, the gas detector circuit was assembled on a breadboard. After initialization, the circuit enters the operating mode and the display shows "Sensing... No Gas !".

To test the functionality of the circuit, I used my portable gas soldering iron. The sensor detected the presence of gas, and the microcontroller turned on the blinking of the LED and the sound signal of the piezoelectric element. "Found Gas" appears on the LCD.

After the air near the sensor is cleared and the sensor does not detect the presence of gas in it, the circuit switches to normal operation, the LED and the piezo turn off.
