A timer circuit with separate setting of the load on and off time is proposed. A distinctive feature is the use of a SoG LCD indicator with a built-in serial interface (trt.ru/products/tic/pdf/ML1001.pdf) of the SPI type (trt.ru/products/tic/pdf/segment/TIC8213.PDF) and self-powered from a three-volt chemical source (one lithium tablet, a couple of alkaline tablets, etc.). Power supply from 2,5 to 5 volts is allowed. An independent source makes the timer non-volatile, which means that it is not necessary to set the time each time you turn it on.

The indicator contains 8 seven-segment digits. The current time indication is carried out by the central four digits with minutes and hours separated by a decimal point. In the rightmost familiarity, the current state of the control key is shown using subscript zero and one (half the height) - zero-off, one-on.

Settings are made with four buttons. Holding down the "setting" button for 2...2,5 seconds leads to the transition to the setting mode. When entering the mode, the first setting of the current time (hours) is offered. In this case, the display moves to the extreme left position. The "min" and "hours" buttons incrementally set the desired time. Holding these buttons for more than 2 seconds causes the corresponding value to auto-increment at a frequency of about 2 hertz. After setting the current time, the recording must be made by pressing the "set" button once. If you want to set the on or off timer, then pressing the "time / timer on / timer off" button selects the desired value for setting. When switching to the setting of timers, the indication moves to the far right position, and on the left, a subscript zero or one shows which timer is currently to be set. The order of setting the timers is the same as for the time. After setting EACH TIMER, it is necessary to save the value in memory by pressing the "set" button. In setting mode, the timer does not work!

The program is written in ASMe. Source code is available. The controller is powered by a built-in 8 MHz RC generator. The watch is powered by a 32768 Hz crystal oscillator. Most of the time the controller is in the slip. The average consumption is about 5...7 uA. In setting mode, the consumption is about 0,7 mA.

A low-threshold MOSFET (IRLML2502, BSS138 and similar) is used as a key. Any buttons. Other elements of SMD. PLS5 programming connector with sequence as in PICKit2.

In the attached file you will find a PDF file for LUT (printed 1:1, the image is mirrored under the TOP layer).

The reverse side is solid metallization. One jumper. Solder transitions to the ground through the corresponding via holes.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Sleep patterns change significantly with age 31.12.2022

British scientists managed to collect data on the sleep patterns of 730 people from 187 countries in an unusual way: using the mobile game Sea Hero Quest.

The game itself was designed to study Alzheimer's disease and assess differences in the spatial abilities of people from different parts of the world, but at the same time, players also answered other questions about themselves, including reporting age and daily sleep time.

It turned out that players sleep an average of 7,01 hours a day, while women sleep an average of 7,5 minutes longer than men. Eastern European countries such as Albania, Slovakia, Romania and the Czech Republic slept the most, half an hour longer than the global average, while Southeast Asian countries including the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia slept the least.

Despite the difference in different parts of the world, scientists have identified a general dynamics of sleep duration, which does not depend on gender, place of residence, or level of education: the youngest participants in the experiment, under the age of 20, slept the longest, by the age of 30, sleep duration gradually decreased, stabilized from 30 to 50 years, and after 50 increased again. The researchers suggest that this dynamic reflects the social roles of people for whom the period from 20 to 50 years is the time of the most active work and family life.

As for the game's basic goal of detecting differences in navigational ability, despite varying sleep durations, the researchers found no difference between younger participants and middle-aged players. But in people older than 54 years, these abilities declined sharply.
