The basis of the "nightingale" circuit (Fig. 1) is three multivibrators. The first of them, assembled on transistors V6, V7, generates a tone signal with a frequency of about 2000 Hz. The signal is amplified by transistor V8. The control multivibrator on transistors V4, V5 periodically turns off the first multivibrator. The operation of the second multivibrator is controlled by the third, assembled on transistors V1 and V2 with a current amplifier on transistor V6. The load of this amplifier is the winding of relay K1. The switching frequency of the transistors of this multivibrator is chosen so that it does not coincide with the frequency of operation of the second multivibrator. When V2 turns on, V3 turns on with it. The relay is activated and with its contacts K.1/1 connects resistor R7 in parallel with resistor R8. As a result, the total resistance in the base circuit of the transistor U4 changes, and, consequently, the switching frequency of the transistors of the second multivibrator.

As if two switching modes of the first multivibrator are created on transistors V6 and V7. The nature of the sound resembles a nightingale trill.

In the described generators, you can use any low-frequency transistors with a current transfer coefficient greater than 15. Electromagnetic relays RES-10 (passport RS4.524.303), a transformer - from any small-sized transistor receiver.

It is worth changing the ratings of the circuit parts in the electronic nightingale circuit and excluding the relay, as you will get an "oink-oink" generator that imitates the grunting of a piglet (Fig. 2).

Eliminate the average multivibrator and relay from the electronic nightingale - and you get a "barking" generator (Fig. 3).

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Virtual reality for pain relief 18.08.2016

American startup AppliedVR is developing VR games designed to distract patients in pain; perhaps in the future we will play such games instead of swallowing pills.

Trials are being conducted at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Children's Hospital Los Angeles. The last game tested was Bear Blast, in which the user has to throw bombs at cartoon bears. The game was tested by 60 people, including those suffering from abdominal pain with pancreatitis and chest pain with pneumonia. They noted pain relief of up to 4 on a 10-point scale: doctors say this indicator is not too different from that achieved with painkillers, including opiates.

In total, three "pain-relieving" applications for virtual reality have been written: they must work before, during and after medical procedures. In particular, the virtual world is supposed to help patients take their mind off pain during burn treatment when traditional pain relief is ineffective.

However, it remains to be seen whether VR technologies actually help fight pain: Cedars-Sinai and AppliedVR have already planned a controlled study with a large number of patients. Doctors warn that virtual reality, like any new technology, should not be overestimated.
