Here the generator of complex oscillations is used. The trill repetition period is controlled by a variable resistor R2, and the sound frequency is controlled by a resistor R4.

Transformer T1 output from any transistor portable receiver; dynamic head - also from a small-sized receiver. The current consumption is 5 mA, so you can use the Krona battery to power it.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Love for coffee is genetic 26.08.2016

Researchers at the University of Edinburgh in the UK found that people with a DNA mutation in the PDSS2 gene tend to drink less coffee than those without the mutation. According to scientists, this is due to the fact that the mutated gene slows down the processing of caffeine by the body and maintains the effect of coffee for a longer period.

Scientists studied the genetic makeup of 370 people living in a small village in southern Italy and compared it with the DNA of 843 people from villages in the country's northeast. In addition to this, each of them was asked how much coffee they drink every day.

It turned out that people with mutated PDSS2 drank on average one cup of coffee less than the rest. The same experiment, conducted with 1731 people in the Netherlands, gave the same result, only the difference in consumption was slightly smaller. Scientists explained this gap by different portions of coffee that are accepted in each of the countries: in Italy these are small cups, in the Netherlands they are large, with a higher content of caffeine.

"The study confirms the idea that genetics play a very important role in our daily habits and lifestyle, and understanding this will help us not only understand how people behave, but also why they do it," the scientists said.

In a larger study conducted in 2014, scientists examined the DNA of more than 120000 people and found that mutated genes help people adjust the amount of coffee they drink based on how efficiently their bodies are able to metabolize caffeine - for optimal coffee effects.
