In the journal "Radio" No. 4 for 2001, an article by A. Dubrovsky "The speed controller of three-phase asynchronous motors" was published. In the described device, a control unit with the so-called algorithm l is used (the pulse duration is equal to half the period, and the duty cycle is two). At the same time, in order to use the possibility indicated by the author to power motors with a power of more than 300 W from the regulator, it is advisable to use a more efficient control algorithm. The proposed measure will reduce losses in the regulator.

It is known that the harmonic composition of the voltage at the output of the inverter improves somewhat with the control algorithm 5π/6 (the duration of the control pulse is less than the initial one by 1/6 of a half-cycle and is equal to 150 arc degrees) [1, 2]. Such an algorithm is easy to implement by introducing an additional node on two microcircuits into the control device: K155LAZ and K155LI1 (Fig. 1).

Refinement of the speed controller for three-phase asynchronous motors

His work is illustrated by the diagrams in Fig. 2.

Refinement of the speed controller for three-phase asynchronous motors

An indispensable condition is that the duty cycle of the clock pulses must necessarily be equal to two.

The node can be used with different three-phase sequencers. Element DD4.4 is connected if the counter is triggered by the edge of the pulse (for the K155IE4 counter, which is triggered by a decline, this element is not needed).

In addition, it should be noted that the mode of operation of an asynchronous motor depends on the ratio of changes in frequency and voltage. The ratio f/U=const ensures the constancy of the torque on the motor shaft, af/√u=const - power constancy. These additional conditions can be met by using a separate isolating transformer and LATR to power the mains rectifier, the movable contact of which is mechanically connected to the engine of a variable resistor that regulates the frequency. It is possible to fulfill the condition of constant torque or power approximately by choosing the appropriate characteristic of the variable resistor (exponential, linear or logarithmic) and additional resistors connected in series or in parallel with the variable resistor.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Cobalt free batteries 14.02.2018

Samsung SDI is working to reduce or eliminate the use of cobalt in EV batteries.

Cobalt is used together with nickel and magnesium or nickel and aluminum. Samsung specialists have already managed to reduce the proportion of cobalt to 5%, while increasing the proportion of nickel, which now exceeds 90%. The South Korean manufacturer expects to be able to completely remove cobalt from both options.

The reason Samsung is moving away from cobalt is a significant increase in the price of this material. In 2017 alone, cobalt rose in price by 235% due to the introduction of a corresponding tax in the Congo. The African country has 60% of the world's cobalt reserves.

In addition, Samsung SDI is considering recycling old batteries. Recycled materials can be a source of cobalt and other key materials.
