In the markets, there is often a children's toy - "cell phone". One of its buttons, in my instance it is "1", has an interesting logic associated with it. Until you press the button three times, the melody will not play. This option allows you to turn the toy into a combination lock-bell.

House call from a cell phone

The essence of the alteration is clear from the figure: you need to solder two insulated wires to the printed conductors going to the "1" button and connect them to the doorbell button (SB1). To use such a device, you need to warn friends and acquaintances about the "code" of the call. Then the first two presses of the button will not lead to anything, and after the third, a melodic sound will be heard in the apartment. Only the third time the button should be pressed no later than two seconds after the second pressing. Otherwise, the whole procedure will have to be repeated.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Less and less laptops are being bought 28.04.2014

Analysts at Digitimes Research have calculated that global notebook shipments in the first quarter of 2014 were down 14,2% from the last quarter of 2013. On an annualized basis, there was also a drop: compared to the first quarter of last year, shipments decreased by 5,5%.

Digitimes Research does not provide specific figures for notebook sales, but notes that the rate of decline in sales has slowed somewhat compared to previous quarters.

It is reported that Hewlett-Packard, ASUS, Apple and Lenovo in the first quarter of 2014 showed an increase in shipments year on year, with the first three of these companies increasing shipments by more than 10%.

At the same time, Acer, Samsung Electronics and Sony experienced sales declines that were larger than the market average. In the case of Acer, this is due to business restructuring, while Samsung and Sony have been focusing on other products.

The statistics of Svyaznoy also speaks about the reduction of the notebook market. Thus, in the first quarter of 2014, sales of laptops and netbooks in Russia in unit terms decreased by 36%. Revenue from sales of such computers fell by a quarter. Moreover, netbooks are actually disappearing from the Russian market.

It’s understandable with the toy, but for a private house there is a problem with wires. Is there a scheme for using a cell phone for this purpose, even with a SIM card. Maybe somehow you can adapt the shortcut button?
