Everyone knows that the time spent by children on various game consoles often exceeds any reasonable norms. And often no amount of arguments from adults can help convince the guys to take a break and do something else. This is where a simple "electronic assistant" - a timer - will help.

The device is designed to turn off the game console after a certain time. Approximately one minute before the set break, a warning tone sounds. During this time, you should stop the game and turn off the console with a regular switch. Otherwise, a forced power off will occur. After switching off, the device must be in the off state for 1.5 ... 2 hours so that the time-setting capacitor is completely discharged. If you try to turn on the set-top box ahead of time, a warning signal will sound, power will not be supplied.

The scheme of the device is shown in fig. one.

Timer to turn off the game console

On the elements DD2.1 and DD2.2, a rectangular pulse generator with a repetition period of about 1 s is assembled. From the output of the generator, the pulses are fed to the input of the counter DD1. After the arrival of the 8192nd pulse (after about 2 hours), a log appears at the output 213 of the DD1 chip. 1 and through the opened transistor VT1 the capacitor C3 begins to charge. Transistor VT2 opens. At the inputs 5 and 6 of the DD2.4 element, a log is set. 0, its output is 4, respectively, log. 1, which is fed to the inputs 8 element DD2.3 and 6 element DD3.4. A high level at input 8 of the DD2.3 element allows the supply of trigger pulses to the input of the audio signal generator, made on the elements of DD3.2 and DD3.3.

A single signal at input 6 of the DD3.4 element puts this element into standby mode, and when a high level appears at its input 5 from output 26 of DD1 (after about 1 min), the low level from the output closes transistors VT4 and VT5. thereby cutting off the power supply of the set-top box.

When the supply voltage is turned on, a short pulse from the output of the differentiating circuit C6R7 is fed to input 5 of the element DD3.4. If the capacitor C3 is not discharged at the same time (less than 1.5 ... 2 hours have passed since the end of the previous game). at the input 6 DD3.4 - log. 1. A log appears at the output of DD3.4. 0. Transistor VT3 turns on and fixes this state. As a result, a warning signal will sound, and the power supply to the game part will not be supplied.

A drawing of the printed circuit board of the timer is shown in fig. 2.

A properly assembled device starts working immediately and does not need to be adjusted. The operating time of the set-top box is determined by the capacitance of the capacitor C2 and the resistance of the resistor R2.

The break time is determined by the elements C3, R5 and the parameters of the transistor VT2. The printed circuit board is designed to be installed in "Subor" SB225-B. therefore, when using the timer in the "Dendy" or "Sega" consoles, you may need to resize it.

The timer is connected to the break of the positive power cable of the console: point A - to the power supply, C - to the game console. Point B is connected to the negative power conductor.

To reduce supply voltage losses, we recommend replacing the VT5 transistor with a pn-p transistor (for example, KT816 or KT837 with any letter index). Its emitter should be connected to conductor A. the collector - to C, the base - to the top terminal R11 according to the circuit, disconnecting it from circuit A. The emitter of the transistor VT4 must be connected to the common wire, and the value of the resistor R9 should be increased to 43 kOhm. Transistor VT4 must be selected with a base current transfer coefficient of at least 100.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Landing on the nucleus of a comet 21.10.2014

The European Space Agency has finally approved the date and place of the soft landing of the scientific module Phila on the surface of the nucleus of comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The spacecraft is currently located 10 km from the comet's nucleus. Such a small distance made it possible to carefully study its surface with all its features and evaluate the "pluses" and "minuses" of all possible places where a detachable module could be planted. As a result, the landing site, previously designated as option "J", was chosen, located on a smaller part of the comet's twin nucleus.

Rosetta will separate the science module at 09:35 CET (Central European Time) on November 12, 2014 at a distance of 22,5 km from the center of the comet. Landing should take place in approximately 7 hours, at 16:30 CET. Separation and landing signals for the Philae module should be received on Earth at 10 CET and 03 CET respectively.

"Now that we know where Rosetta should be targeting, we are one step closer to executing this exciting but risky operation," said Fred Jansen, one of ESA's mission leaders. "However, there is more a number of key procedures that must be followed before we can give the final command to "proceed to land".

In particular, on November 11, that is, even before the separation of Rosetta and the landing scientific module, it will be necessary to clarify the trajectory of the spacecraft and its orientation in space. And on the night of November 11-12, researchers should receive confirmation of the readiness of all systems of the orbital and landing modules for separation.

After Phil separates, the orbiter itself will perform an "up and away" maneuver to reorient itself and establish communication with the science module. The latter, during his 7-hour descent, must make an analysis of the composition of the ejected dust, gases and plasma directly near the comet's nucleus. He will also photograph the receding Rosetta, and the approaching surface of the comet's nucleus. After "landing", if everything goes according to plan, the Philae module will take panoramic pictures of the vicinity of the comet's surface. It is expected that the first images will be obtained on Earth within a few hours after the separation of the vehicles.

An hour after landing, Phil will begin scientific experiments that are expected to last 64 hours. In the long term, the study of the comet's nucleus will largely depend on whether the dust deposited on the solar panels interferes with their recharging. But in any case, by March 2015, as the comet approaches the Sun, the temperature inside the lander will become too high to continue work, and Phil's scientific mission will be completed.

The mission of the orbiter will continue for quite a long time. "Rosetta" should accompany the comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko until its closest approach to the Sun (passing the perihelion of the orbit of 1.29 AU in August 2015), and then, together with it, head back to the outer regions of the solar system. Of course, the spacecraft will not only fly around the celestial body, but also observe the processes occurring in the comet's nucleus, in its coma and in its immediate vicinity. The researchers hope that this mission will provide us with unique information about the early formation of our solar system, and perhaps even about the origin of life on Earth.
