In addition to tools with insulated handles, which are classified as protective equipment and should always be with an electrician, an electrician needs to have other tools designed for different types of work. Some Toolsthat may be required by an electrician are given in table. 14.1.

Pipe processing is required during the repair and installation of pipe wiring. Technical data of pipe cutters and pipe benders are presented in table. 14.2.

Piston mounting gun ПЦ-84 is designed for fastening to walls of various structures and devices. With its help, special fastening nails are hammered into various brick, concrete and metal bases - dowels. In the pistol, during its operation, the powder gases from the cartridge, expanding, act on the piston, which accelerates and hits the dowel located in the guide, and the dowel is hammered into the base.

The number of pistol shots per hour is 50, overall dimensions are 385 x 65 x 132 mm, weight is 3,6 kg. The gun eliminates the dowel ricochet and through the base, has a low sound level of the shot. It has interlocks that exclude a shot in the air, a shot when the pistol is locked, when the shock absorbers are deformed, when the pistol falls from a height of up to 1,5 m. The pistol uses special bulletless cartridges with smokeless powder.

Hand-held drilling machines are used to drill holes in metal, concrete, brick and stone, wood and other materials. Characteristics of drilling machines are given in table. 14.3.

Electric perforators are used for cutting furrows and punching holes in brick and concrete, driving dowels, drilling holes, driving screws and screws and can operate in the following modes: shock, shock-rotational, rotational (Table 14.4).

plastic bridge 10.05.2006

In the state of Wisconsin (USA), an outwardly unremarkable concrete bridge was built on one of the highways.

However, instead of the usual steel reinforcement, a plastic grating is hidden under the concrete. A plasto-concrete bridge, according to the calculations of its creators, will last at least twice as long as a reinforced concrete one, since its polymer reinforcement is not afraid of corrosion from salt water seeping through cracks in the concrete surface in winter.
