Electronic ballasts on discrete elements. Features of repair of compact fluorescent lamps and electronic ballasts. Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering / Ballasts for fluorescent lamps It is no secret that the durability and reliable operation of CFLs largely depend on the quality of its constituent elements. Unfortunately, today CFLs and electronic ballasts are somewhat discredited. poor quality products made in China. The fact is that in the pursuit of cheaper prices, both manufacturers and sellers have completely forgotten about the quality of products, and most buyers do not have the necessary information. Let's figure it out what determines the quality and durability of CFLs and electronic ballasts, because the need and frequency of repairs directly depend on this. As we already know, a CFL consists of a discharge tube and an electronic ballast. Discharge tube quality and durability determined by its cathodes and light-emitting phosphor. A electronic ballast quality - circuit design and reliability of elements (electronic components). Low-quality cheap Chinese CFLs have the following problems. Phosphor. Already after 1000-2000 hours of operation, the light output drops by 2-3 times. At the same time, the color rendering index of a cheap phosphor is already initially very low. Cathodes. The low quality of the cathode emissive layer leads to contamination of the phosphor, i.e., the light output of the phosphor decreases. And the cathodes themselves very quickly lose their emission properties, which leads to an increase in the ignition voltage and an overload of the electronic ballast. As a result, either the cathodes break or the electronic ballast fails. Electronic ballast. It is one of the main parts of the compact fluorescent lamp, which is responsible for its stable operation. Low-quality ballasts have an underestimated power delivered to the lamp. There is no mode of preheating of the cathodes, low reliability of all elements of the electronic circuit. For a more detailed overview, we turn to the circuit diagram in Fig. 3.51. This scheme is the most common and is used in many CFLs and electronic ballasts.
Most often power switches transistors VT1, VT2 fail. Instead of 13005, in the T0-220 package, you can often find low-power 13002 in the TO-92 package, which negatively affects the reliability of the ballast. When transistors VT1, VT2 fail, resistors R3-R6 also break. When replacing transistors, resistors R33R6 should be checked for continuity and replaced if necessary. The next unreliable element is the capacitor C8. If, when transistors and piping elements burn out, this can be seen with the naked eye (swelling, blackening of the case), then when the capacitor C8 breaks, it visually looks serviceable. The fact is that capacitors C8 with a voltage of 630 V are often installed in ballasts, and when the lamp ages, when the ignition voltage rises, this capacitor does not withstand and breaks. Use a capacitance meter to check. And to increase the reliability of the electronic ballast, it should be replaced with a domestic K78-2 with a voltage of 1000-1600 V or a similar imported one with a high-quality dielectric. Also, the electrolytic capacitor C2 often fails. He has swelling, loss of capacity. This element is also subject to stringent quality requirements. It must be high temperature. The internal volume of the KLL quite often heats up decently, this is especially noticeable in the absence of ventilation holes and when the KLL is operated with the flask down. The Rl, VS1 startup chain fails much less frequently. But if all the elements are in good condition and there is no generation, you should pay attention to it. Council. To reduce the cost of repair work, we can recommend the purchase and operation of CFLs and electronic ballasts from well-known manufacturers OSRAM, PHILIPS, GE. Author: Koryakin-Chernyak S.L. Years, commercials 7-8 years ago, I bought a couple (for every fireman) electronic ballasts - for, so to speak, the fastest on. lighting. Nothing indicated disappointment. All incl. and off... In a couple of days (!) full w!!! I sinned against the Chinese - bullshit, well ... The old-fashioned system works: on-off - modern LM lamps - without interruption !! As for the LEDs - while they can not claim full coverage. a guest Please tell me how to check or how to replace the DV3 dinistor?
