Electric soldering iron occupies far from the last place in the arsenal of the home master: whether electrical wiring is being laid, whether it is being repaired, whether electric motors are being repaired - soldered joints will be required everywhere. Household electric soldering irons can be with continuous and periodic heating.

A continuous heating electric soldering iron is the simplest device made of a massive soldering rod (a heating coil wound on a metal tube insulated with a layer of mica), ending with a soldering tip, a heat-resistant handle and an electric cord. A step-down transformer is included in the electrical circuit of the periodic heating soldering iron, which prevents the soldering tip from overheating. The design of such a soldering iron is shown in Fig. 94.

The soldering rod of the periodic heating device is made of thick wire in the form of a loop; it has a very small mass, so it is heated to operating temperature in a few seconds. The power range of electric soldering irons is quite wide: from 10-26 W for low-power radio assembly to 40-65 W for electrical and up to 100 W for copper soldering irons.

Microsoft Surface Duo 2 foldable smartphone 24.09.2021

Microsoft has officially announced its second-generation foldable Android smartphone, the Surface Duo 2. The novelty has retained the design of the first-generation device. At the same time, the engineers have improved those aspects that caused criticism.

The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 smartphone contains two 5,8-inch OLED displays with a resolution of 1344x1892 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The hinge used allows the device to be opened like a book or set up like a tent. Together, the two Duo 2 displays measure 8,3 inches in diagonal. The slight curve of the display allows you to view a small image (time, notifications) when closed. The screens are covered with protective glass Corning. The Surface Pen series digital pen is supported, and the Surface Slim Pen 2 version can be attached to the side of your smartphone using a magnetic attachment.

The novelty carries a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and supports 5G communication. These features have been significantly improved over their predecessor. In the first generation model, only one camera was available. The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 version has already received a triple camera unit. It includes a 16-megapixel standard wide-angle module with optical image stabilization, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide module and a 12-megapixel telephoto module with optical image stabilization.

The operating system uses Android 11. Microsoft says 150 games, including Asphalt Legends 9, Modern Combat 5, and Dungeon Hunter 5, are optimized for using one screen as a controller while viewing the game itself on another screen.

The novelty will go on sale from October 5 at a price of $1499,99. The choice of users will be available in white and black color options for the case.
