The proposed intercom (Fig. 1) has the following features:

- control and reception-transmission are carried out via two unshielded wires;
- at the end of the call by the secretary of the director, the latter automatically switches to transmission.

Intercom Director-Secretary. Schematic diagram of the intercom
Fig.1. Schematic diagram of the intercom (click to enlarge)

The device contains a base unit and a remote control (director). The base unit has an amplifier (VT4, VT5, DA1), a control unit (VT1, VT2, K1), a single vibrator (VT3, K4), a VA2 speaker and switching relays K2, short circuit.

The device works as follows. In the initial state, transistors VT1, VT2 are open, relay K1 is on, contacts K1.1 are open.

To send a message from the director's console, press the SB1 button. Through the communication channel, the button and the resistor R1 in the remote control, the base of the transistor VT1 closes to ground. Transistors VT1, VT2 close, relay K1 releases, contacts K1.1 close, speaker BA1 is connected to the amplifier and turns into a microphone.

To answer, the secretary presses the SB2 button. Relays K2 and short circuit are activated. The remote control is connected to the amplifier output using relay contacts K3.2, and the BA2 speaker becomes a microphone using contacts K2.1, K2.2. At the same time, contacts K3.1 close the capacitance C3 and discharge it if it was previously charged.

At the end of the message transmission, when SB2 is opened, relays K2 and short circuit are released. Relay contacts K3.1 supply power to relay K4 and capacitor C3. Relay K4 is activated and closes the circuit of the remote control with the amplifier (contacts K4.1 are connected in parallel with open contacts K1.1). This ensures the transmission of a signal from the remote control without pressing the SB1 button.

At the end of the one-shot operation (2 ... 2,5 s), all switching elements of the device return to their original state.

Structurally, the base unit and the remote control are located in the housings of the subscriber loudspeakers. Power supply - remote, power 2 ... 3 watts. Chip DA1 should be installed on a heat sink with an area of 3 ... 4 cm2. Relay K1, K4 - RES55A (0601) or RES49 (280), relay K2 and KZ - RES9 (0001).

Setting up the amplifier does not have any difficulties, however, to eliminate possible self-excitation, the conductors going to the "ground" from the BA2 and the remote control should be soldered to one point on the amplifier board. Installation can be done with unshielded wire, for example, MGTF-0,12.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Working Earth Model 11.07.2002

I remember that Woland had a globe on which one could see in real time what was happening in different countries. A similar device was installed in the new Technology Museum in Tokyo.

The globe with a diameter of 650 centimeters and weighing 18 tons is covered with small square screens - there are 3715 of them in total, and each has 256 LEDs that allow you to display information that comes from satellites and weather stations.

Every three hours, a picture of cloud cover over the Earth is shown. At the request of visitors, you can see the changes in the cloud pattern over the past month. It is especially interesting to observe the passage of typhoons and cyclones. From time to time, the globe switches to display the concentration of carbon monoxide at an altitude of 6000 meters above the Earth. Low concentrations are depicted in shades of blue, dangerous ones in orange and red.

Twice a day, the globe shows the change of day and night: one hemisphere plunges into darkness, and the lights of large cities shine on it. The exposition is very popular with visitors.
