Chip TDA 8560, being a complete analogue of the well-known microcircuit TDA1557Q, in fact, is a completely new amplifier. The developers of the TDA 8560 "only" strengthened the output stage (taking the TDA 1557 as a basis), "accustoming" the amplifier to a 2 * ohm load. What does it give?

1. The amplifier for a 2 * ohm load works as steadily as for a 4 * ohm load, while delivering 40 W per channel.

2. Even when working on conventional 4 * ohm speakers, the amplifier shows a maximum power of 25 W per channel (for TDA1557 - 22 W), and a nominal power of 17 ... I8 W (for TDA1557 - 12 W).

3. In addition, the output stage of the amplifier operates in the soft-limiting mode (Soft Klipping) - when the output signal reaches its maximum values, the signal peaks are not cut off sharply, but with rounded fronts. All this, in the end, gives a powerful, undistorted sound.

The question may arise: how to make the amplifier give power 40W? There are two options: 1) Look for 2 * ohm speakers (there are such); 2) Connect to the amplifier not one, but two pairs of 4 * ohm speakers - loaded with 2 ohms. Obviously, it is this feature of the TDA8560, the ability to work on two pairs of 4 * ohm speakers at once, that makes it possible to sound the entire interior of the car with one chip - a pair of speakers in the doors, a pair on the rear shelf - and all this with a total power of 80 W! Based on this, we can propose another bold decision: use the TDA8560 for an additional low-frequency channel. Example - you have 2x (4x) channel - which is clearly not enough bottoms. In this case (in order to "succumb" to the bottoms), they usually put a separate woofer with a power of 50 ... 150 W and a separate amplifier for it. Cheaper than $170...200 - this is unlikely to cost (or even all $300...400). But you can do it this way: we install four woofers (25 HDN with a diameter of 35 cm) on the rear shelf and connect them to the TDA 16 - we get an additional 20 W of excellent, powerful bass and for only $ 8560 ... 80 .

Recommendations for use

1) The signal to the input of the amplifier can be supplied from the line output (if any) or the signal can be taken from the input of your own amplifier of the radio (after the volume control) You can also remove the signal from the outputs to the speakers with high gain) Their rating should be 20...50 kOhm if a signal with an amplitude of about ~250 mV is applied to the inputs (standard output) and 100-200 kOhm if the signal is taken from the output to the speakers.

2) The amplifier must be installed on a heat sink (at least 200 cm-2) -

3) To maintain the dynamic power of the amplifier, it is useful to connect a high-capacity electrolytic capacitor 12 ... 4700 mF x10000V in parallel with the power supply (from +16 to ground), then the power will not sag when the maximum power peaks pass. It is strictly forbidden to change the power + to and also close the outputs to +12 V to ground and also to each other in any sequence -

In the case of connecting an amplifier to woofers, it is recommended to use a low-pass filter either at the input or at the output (preferably at the input).

If the input signal = 200 250 mV, then R* is not set, if the input signal = 3...4 V (output to the speakers), then R* is set and equals 100...300 kOhm. This filter has the following parameters: cutoff frequency 50Hz , roll-off - 18 dB/octave.

In the case of using the amplifier at home, the power source must have the recommended parameters, a transformer with an overall power of 80 100 W, the secondary winding - for a current up to 4 A (Rн=4 Ohm) or up to 7,5 A (Rн=2 Ohm) С* - the more the better (ideally 47000 mF).

ELSA has announced the GeForce GTX 770 SAC (Silent Air Cooling) graphics accelerator.
